Amateur life tip: if you're playing at a casual, recreational level, throw out some decent looking stepovers early in a match for an effect that will last the rest of the match -- they don't even have to be used to actually get by anyone, just make them look good and don't lose the ball doing it. The effect is that the display discourages a non-trivial percentage of the other team from pressing you as hard whenever you have the ball, because you've established that you're 'tricky.' I know this sounds stupid, but I swear it works. Signed, a wingback that secretly hates actually dribbling by people.
