And what's even worse is that they nearly always implement the Pecheneg. Why? It's specifically the version of the gun meant to be and optimised for shooting prone. There really is nothing to hold onto while shooting standing. BF3 made it popular and everyone ran with it.

Kalashnikov designed it to feed from the right, not to facilitate left-handed shooting (left-handedness is verboten in collectivist societies), but to facilitate a more fluid loaded process since the loader takes up a position next to the gunner. With the belt feeding from the right, and the casings and belt links ejecting to the left, it's easier for a loader seated to the gunner's right to load a belt box. Also, the casings eject at a downward angle, and they tend to form a relatively neat pile. Kinda hard for a right-hander to fire the thing from a standing position, though, because the brass constantly hits their left forearm. 0:45 Why's there zoom with iron sights? That hurts muh brain! That and putting the rear sight way up close to the "eye" for no reason. So GLaD S.T.A.L.K.E.R. doesn't do that.

Tbh.... I take not very accurate to gun/ammo caliber sounds than getting a boatload of barely different sounds of a "Current Year" demake. MW3 sounds at least allowed you to KNOW what was being shot at you with enough experience (is the Sniper L33t nolifer using the L118 or a SVD? MW3 the sounds were distinct enough you could easily know the gun). Any modern shooter, i barely see and hear the difference in the gun firing sounds and animations aside the gun itself.

No, not as long as the gun is already loaded. All you'd have to do is open the feed cover and replace the belt, as the bolt is already locked back.

@@mylastaccountgotdeletedtha6936 on top of the bolt, technically before it gets pushed into the chamber because the claw is connected to the bolt carrier that is why you need to pull the charging handle back when the bolt is forward after reloading(i.e. after the last round in the belt has been fired) such that the claw can pull a round back the charging handle is non reciprocating as well so when you push the charging handle forward after racking the bolt, the bolt stays at the back of the receiver(open bolt ready to fire) while the handle stays forwards and does not affect the movement of the bolt
