just get your money up. there is quite literally no entrepreneurial path in the entire world where there is absolutely NO BUY-IN FEE. Stock and forex traders are paying for mentors and books on market adjustments, construction workers are paying for the schooling they need to work in the union, artists are paying for their paint and pencils, web developers are paying for their domain, content creators are paying for data analytics, editing and copywriting... Literally everyone is paying. Rather than complain, find a way to afford it. Or find a way to pirate it, which is equally doable (I got the method rn) or just accept that maybe this career isn't for you and go to college. 😂

My main complaint with Vital (literally just discovered today) is that I work on both Windows and Mac. The Windows version of Vital is a VST and the Mac version is AU, rather than VST3 which is cross compatible. So any time I open a project across different platforms my projects are bricked. This alone means I won't use it again until it's cross-compatible. That being said, it's a great free synth!

Good stuff. Nice video. I want to give Soundpaint a shout out. Comes with a nice piano and a bunch of other free off-center instruments. That has user import, so you can make your own instruments to use in the player. You have a bunch of different slots to stack instruments together, or morph one into another. Full effects rack, ADSR, all that stuff. I've bought a handful of instruments for it, as well. Good quality sounds. The reason I recommend it, is I really can get a lot of work done inside the player to tailor my sound. It has helped me to stay a little more focused and not be bouncing around thinking about different plugins for effects.

I immediately agree with you on having Arturia on the top. I also agree with the Mellotron pick. You can load one shots in there, too. You can edit the channels on the Mellotron plugin and drag one shots right in. On the low, though, I REALLY like UVI. Their synth VSTs are probably the best in my opinion. Their analog emulations are top, top notch. The effects in that Arturia package are excellent. Don't sleep on them. The best effect plugin company has to be Plugin Alliance. There's a good reason Native Instruments made a deal with them.

You know that a VST list video is useless, when the VSTs are advertised by dropping big names who supposedly use it. Or when single Analog Lab or Kontakt Player devices are included (specifically if those are demos). The third Red Flag is Presets. If you want to spend money on presets, put the name of your favorite Synth you already own and 'presets' into google and go wild, but never pay for a VST because it has nice presets.

I have a feeling people will say things like East West, Spitfire, Albion... idk things like that, which to my understanding do have great sounding pianos, but I haven't heard anything super unique along those lines (though I don't own them). Keyscape has 500 emulations, and the vast vast majority of them are unique, inspiring sounds. It's been out almost 8 years. Is it really still undefeated?
