I respectfully disagree. We get the hint from the professor's instant relaxed demeanor that Will is a bigger fish than what that pond of a dungeon floor could offer. Bell vs. minotaur gave off an energy of equally matched foes fighting for their right in a world of strength. Will is downright every-bit stronger than the minotaur he fault in that scene-- absolutely disrespecting it by killing it with its own weapon

honestly i disagree with the animation budget they should have gotten a bit more. it seems interesting im gonna watch it but they use the same sound clip of him grunting for every hit and the animation itself is a little bit low quality. fingers crossed for the plot tho seems like a nice little story

@@sifthead7720 Megumi always called Toji and Maki's abilities a technique (presumably a curse technique). It seems clear that they in fact turn their cursed energy into physical ability that explains how they have so little cursed energy and when they refine their abilities the have even less. So Toji was as much a jujutsu sorcerer as the society that discounted his powers as not being a curse technique because of arbitrary prejudice but the society of sorcerers was often shown to be small minded and prejudiced so that makes sense. Or at least that was my read on the theme of the story there.

@@allanolley4874 No, dude. It's not a Technique. It's a Heavenly Restriction. Heavenly Restrictions are basically just Binding Vows that you're born with and can't get rid of except through specific means (such as Mahito altering Mechamaru's body into a normal one) and you lose the benefits in doing so (Mechamaru stopped producing massive amounts of Cursed Energy and had to use what he had stockpiled). They lost their ability to use Cursed Energy and Cursed Techniques that they would have otherwise naturally possessed as members of the Zen'in clan, but in exchange gained immense physical prowess.

​@tornav7789 The entire first episode has this same animation quality. It's nuts. Also yes, gotta love the Berserk reference very coyly inserted into the fight itself. Omori's other series Danmachi has also had hidden Dark Souls references (and in later seasons and stories some very dark Berserk-like moments) too, like Havel's Armor in the background of an armor shop. I'm glad a studio picked this series up that could finally do justice to Omori's writing. They even let him keep a normal name. 🤣
