I've played Apex since the second day it came out (I downloaded it the first day but by the time it was done I was to tired to play). The amount of toxic players now compared to then is insane. I would say every other game is a toxic player. And I still get the Wraiths that phase into a fight solo get downed and then immediately leave.

This is the reason I don’t turn my mic on in pubs. Besides, the VAST majority of my randoms are toxic as hell , but they don't use the mic and yell at me for being better than them. If I had to guess, I probably end up getting at least 1 (quite often more than 2) toxic teammates a match. Hell, the banner doesn't even show UP they leave that quick. Honestly, nowadays I just mute my teammates because they will just start yelling nonsense🤣
