Dude, it looks really cold there ... lol😎. It was 81 deg when I hit Headwaters this afternoon ... a swimbait w/underpin it always the first bait I throw. Your technique works great for coming over the top of submerged hydrilla and then killing it just as it clears an edge and drops into deeper water

@mikeybalzz Жыл бұрын

Been using a medium light 7'4" Phenix M1 baitcasting setup for the small Kietechs. 10lb flouro and 3/16 to 5/16 heads. I have a lot more control on the casting setup than with spinning and good feel. 3/8 works fine as well but I usually go up a MH M1.
@mikeybalzz3 жыл бұрын
I bet you get insane casting distance with that rod too
@stevenbrown75603 жыл бұрын
The 5/16 with a 3.3 keitech will cast a mile. Keitech's are a staple I upper East TN and I struggled using a spinning rod for the small ones. This set up has got me back in the game for small swimbaits

I've gone down to Lake Fork Tackle's Baby Boot Tail Shad (magic shad) and the new Bobby Garland Slab Hunt'R Finesse Baitfish (live minnow, threadfin shad) for the ultimate in finesse swimbait fishing. I put them on a Brewer ³/¹⁶oz ball head, w/a single strand of 50lb fluoro weedguard, custom eyes, paint, and a single, thin wire keeper-NO lead barb. Fished on ML spinning gear (Megabass Destroyer Windbuster, Shimano Vanford 2000), 12lb Gliss to 7lb FC Sniper completes my ultimate finesse swimbait rig. Give 'em a try.
