SOMETIMES IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THERE IS NO HOPE IN SAVING THE PLANET.
Do you feel this way?
The more you hear statistics about environmental damage, the more depressing it gets. For example, since the 1970’s, vertebrate animal populations across the world have declined by about 70% on average. The rate of deforestation of tropical rainforests from the past few years is at an all-time high. And the speed at which greenhouse gases are emitted into the atmosphere is showing no signs of slowing.
Maybe you have thought about what you can do to help. But there is also a good chance that you have felt HELPLESS. It sucks when you feel like you cannot make a difference. Especially when you consider yourself just an “average” person.
But is it really okay just to NOT TRY to help the planet? I THINK NOT.
Sure, an AVERAGE PERSON probably cannot make as big of a difference. But what if you were more than average? What if YOU WERE THE BEST YOU COULD POSSIBLY BE?
The people who are going to SAVE THE PLANET are the people WHO IMPROVE THEMSELVES FIRST-the people who strive to be ABOVE AVERAGE. It will NOT be the people WHO DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES.
AND YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS ARE A HUGE PART OF THIS. So, if you are one of those people who needs to improve your health and fitness, why not go for it? And why not pursue it WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY showing your commitment to the Earth by eating more sustainably and exploring nature as part of your workout plan?
The MORE YOU IMPROVE YOURSELF, the MORE PEOPLE WILL RESPECT YOU, and THE MORE YOUR LOVE OF THE PLANET WILL SPREAD TO THEM. The more the love spreads, the more we will be able to creatively work towards solving environmental problems. That is what the ECOFIT life is all about.
