Get Your Gear Right For Cold Weather. My EDC for 2025 and a look at my daypack.

Layering for cold is super important and not to be taken likely. If you get lost in the wilderness , it can make a difference between life and death . Hyperthermia is a killer. Don't worry about camo clothes. Earth tone neutral colors work fine . I do avoid deer brown colors. Green and gray colors are cammo enough. Most hunting areas require hunter orange anyway. Warm clothes are not that expensive. Wool clothing is the exception. I like polyester fleece and synthetic insulation like thinsulate. Very good information here.

I got lost one night during a very cold winter storm in Canada. I was woefully under dressed. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. I eventually made it to safety by the grace of God. It taught me a very valuable lesson. You can always shed a layer. I don’t mess around when preparing for cold weather. I should have talked more about the dangers of the cold. Maybe I’ll make another video and dive a bit deeper into why it’s so important to dress properly and have the right gear. I appreciate your input. Thank you 🙏

With some of the new kazillion lumen lights you might start a fire 🔥😂. Wool even wet is your best friend & wet cotton your enemy. A good lap cat can keep you warm also 😻. Thanks for good info. Only think I might add is a roll of duct or electrical tape for fixing things including holes in me 😂. Stay warm. 🙏👍🥶❄️

I wear wool socks year round. Warm in the winter, dry in the summer. I do need some duct tape in my bag. Great suggestion. We are warm and cozy. Gonna fire up the Kubota in a a bit, and hook up the sled for the girls.

​@FirearmsandFellowship Electrical tape works well for cuts etc. but duct tape twisted into a wick does better as a Firestarter. Old people get bored & expirement with this stuff 😂.

The Bic “flashlight” is good for lighting fires. Not great for flash lighting. 😂 It’s live tv folks.
