Thozamile I have to respectfully correct you slightly, the Oppenheimer's were not the ones to have found gold & diamonds in S.A. The Boers were the ones who found it, and the British came here to claim it, they went to war with the Boers (Boer war 1899 - 1902) they killed 37000 Boer women & children in their concentration camps, amongst other atrocities they also had the "scorched earth policy" where Boer farms and dwellings were burnt to the ground, they managed to end the war by the co - op of some Boer traitors namely Jan Smuts and a few others and then the present owners of the gold mines and diamond fields came in existence and they still own the mines today, I hope that you now have a better picture of what really happened.
