I have lifted weights for years . Recently I have started to focus on nutrition, my macros have been so bad I would say for as long as I have been Training. But I have been listening to you guys and have started to learn how important protein is. I recently got a nutrition tracker. I now get 150 grams of protein a day and Iam working on getting it up to 200. Iam excited to see what will happen, since I naturally Cary a good amount of muscle and hence why I never really got interested in nutrition.

@Sachin Tribhuvan it depends on your digestive system.. I used yo eat 1 whole roasted chicken everyday. I thought I was eating all protien no carb diet. But apparently I messed up my gut. I always had problems with digestion. Make sure not to eat too much non veg as it's hard to digestion. I still eat 150g of chicken breast everyday. But now I eat a lot of fruits and water. Only 2 meals a day. 80g meal 1 and 60g meal 2 and intermittent fasting. My digestion is great and abs are out.

I eat 200 grams in one sitting! About 1300 calories No diarrhea no bloating! Omad fast for 23 hours! Walnuts keep me regular never missing a day

I just have some protein with each meal...not overly concerned as long as I hit my daily goal. ❤️💪🏋️‍♀️. I can eat 350+ grams of protein in a day with no issues. My hunger is insane lol. You guys rock!

Whey protein has the highest bio availability out of all the types of protein. I actually thin pork is second. But, if you're getting around that 1g per pound of body weight. That's more than enough, even if you don't digest all of that.

I have two big meals and 1 small meals, big meals is like 70-100g of protein and small meals maybe 20-30g all goes down with no issues lol

I think "consuming" doesn't have anything to do with any amount of protein you eat, probably what they actually meant was "absorbing", bc you could consume like 1kl of chicken breast in 1 sitting which contains 295g of protein, but the real question is could you digest and absorb all that protein from that chicken.

In my past experience I think, it actually kinda help me digest the protein, I was having a hard time taking a dump with 180-200g of protein per day, if I remember it right, it takes me around 2 days before my stomach start to feel like want to take a dump which is supposedly daily, but then I tried to do some research and found out that pineapple(or any acidic fruits or foods) helps you absorb and digest nutrients much faster, specifically protein. And Yes, my digesting system came back to normal just like a normal person taking a dump daily. But put in my mind that too much pineapple could give you diarrhea, so yeah consume it moderately😊

protein shake is a calorie efficient way of getting in protein. if i tried to get all my protein from foods, it would be difficult to stay at or below maintenance

I think the body can absorb more than 10g of protein perk hour maybe 40 or 50 but , it’s not for muscle building requirements only ! So if ur body is able to absorb 40grams of protein per hour a small percentage of that is for muscle building Please correct me if I’m wrong

Ample studies show you can only digest 10 grams an hour from whey. Most other proteins are around 5 grams an hour. Eggs are like 2 or 3 an hour. So many studies on this.

10g an hr is actually good. Just means it will take 3 hrs to digest 30g. 5 hrs for 50g.

@@cjstats1514 yea 10 per hour is good but my point is, if you only had weight that's 240 grams your body can digest but most of our food are more around 5. So therorically from mostly whole foods you can't digest much more than 120 a day. Maybe 140-160 for most people

@@jakeup4533 It can take 24 to 48 hrs to digest food. That doesn't mean it doesn't all eventually digest. That's why eating every 3 hrs is an old school myth. Unless it's for spiking insulin for carbs. Or to eat more. When you go to the bathroom, it's usually from what you ate the day or 2 bf.

@@cjstats1514 food digests through the stomach and small intestine in 4-8 hours. At that point most of the nutrients is absorbed and it sits in the large intestine as liquid waste where it mostly dehydrates the waste and stores it in the colon. Just because it's in the body for 24-48 hours doesn't mean it's still digesting sufficient amount of nutrients while it's being stored for a bowel movement.

@@jakeup4533 This is just scientifically incorrect. Yes, I'm talking digestion as in the full process. From the time you eat. Until the time you have a bowel movement for that meal. But, you can digest a lot more than 120g a day of protein. There are multiple studies showing this. On top of multiple studies showing athletes and bodybuilders optimize at closer to that gram per body weight. Pple have been shown to digest over 200g of protein in a day.
