For most moves that transition into lion heart yes hold back afterwards. e.g. ub+2,b or f+2,2,b. The only exception I can think of is ub+3 which will always go into lionheart. If you’re already in lion heart though, cancel by going into stances that use 3 (or 4) like right weave (4), left weave (3), duck (f+3 | f+4), (back) sway (b+3 | b+4).

how are you going with duck cancelling? , I'm a new Steve player shin Ryu rank and that's my biggest struggle is incorporating duck canceling into combo juggles consistently

@@tekkingi6956 duck cancelling is easier when you do it after going to flicker stance. So doing 121 holding back then ducking and holding down back helps you do this. Go slow first then you’ll get the hang of it

Which combo are you trying to optimise? Sometimes the duck cancel doesn’t add much to combos so check if you think the routes are worth it. The bread and butter off b+1 counter hit for example I see a lot of combo videos do DCK 1 > df 1~2,1,b (FLK) > f+3 (DCK), db > ws1 > 2,2 (LH) > LH 2 > combo ender which gives 71 dmg. But if you FLK 1 instead of the whole duck cancelling into ws 1 it actually is way easier and gives 72 dmg. Duck cancelling is important no doubt. Another way to practice might be to try it after CH df+2 instead (which is meant to guarantee a ws 1,2 or if you’ve got the execution ws2,2 or even sonic fang).
