Some of these Anderton's videos are amazing. This video very much influenced my decision to buy the Orange Terror Bass 500 and 2 OBC112 cabs. I didn't buy it from Anderton's , since I'm over in the colonies, but if I were in the UK, I would definitely check them out. Fantastic amp, glad I got it instead of something else.

Honest request. Can you please review bass amps with a Precision or Jazz Bass? it serves little purpose to know how the amp sounds with a Musicman or a Dingwall. This even helps less with an amp like Orange which is oriented to "traditional tones".
@darkkip20035 жыл бұрын
Agree, I have no real knowledge of how a Dingwall sounds so it’s hard to judge if how bad this sounds is all to the amp, or the bass, or a combination of the 2

Man!! Talk about some SICK ASS grooving!!! Flippin magic in those fingers bro! MMmmm, when you bust into (wait a second, all of you that are reading this - listen to this on headphones first! Totally bad ass tone and style.) into that groove at 13:02 - then just keep kicking balls all the way through to the 13:22 mark - wow, I love that groove and it's so simplistic in form but memorable as ever! Thank you for that inspiration. Cheers, mate.

The DI sounds way better than mic. Really like this amp!
@AttitudeCastle4 жыл бұрын
Interesting! If you think that maybe look at the Orange Little Bass thing. They have the same power section and DI. The DI on the Terror bass bypasses the pre-amp section.
@AttitudeCastle4 жыл бұрын
DI on the new series (these ones) is killer SO much better than the super hot problematic ones from before.
@jayl59414 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I thought it was really good but the mic was better. Sounded like the lows flubbed out some in the DI.
@Studio12154 жыл бұрын
You might think the DI sounds better because there’s a 12AT7 tube at the Send. I just bought one of these but haven’t used the DI yet. Now I’m curious.
@Dr.Turkey5 жыл бұрын
Pretty impressed with the DI sound. Since this has a solid state power section would I be able to use the DI without plugging into my cab for silent recording and practice?
@Bassbernd995 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use it without a cab, like every ClassD Amp, allthough the manual says no. This is a mistake in the manual. Orange Support tells that when asked.

Terror Bass is a one trick pony. Admittedly it does that trick very well, but it is still a one trick pony. I own one of the original ones - the EQ does very little.
@MikeLee-lg5vq5 жыл бұрын
Personally I think all Orange amps are one trick ponies. As you said, they do that trick very well. So if you want that sound you get an Orange, but they aren't a Jack of all trades kind of amp.
@egnbigdave5 жыл бұрын
@@MikeLee-lg5vq yep. When I got mine I was wanting something with a valve pre-amp. But at times I miss my Ampeg PF500 as it was tonally much more versatile - only thing stopping me going back is I was lucky (had from new (And indeed from Andertons) one of the PF500s that never had any issues, and I cant guarantee Id drop lucky again.

I think I'm going to have to get me one of those and a cab or two - when it's just bordering on breaking up, the natural tone is brilliant and I'd say it would sound awesome with a Fender Jazz (my preferred plank of choice). I've been looking for a sound (but without buying) that replicates or gets close to a SansAmp and that kind of does it for me - the problem with the SansAmp for me is the natural air movement from an amp/cab. I love the sound Geddy Lee gets from his SansAmp set up but I want a similar sound but something to play through, rather than DI'd straight to desk (if that makes sense !!). Great vid as always lads, look forward to the next. Question: do you guys stock Ampeg and if so, maybe a combo shootout? They're reasonably priced, classic sound and have a good range from beginner to pro. Just askin' ;-)
