Guys... I'm a big older bloke, about your age, and produce (as a hobby) electronic music, techno, synth wave, etc. I live in Palm Springs, CA. I started watching your channel not long after it went up, and have followed along, enjoying your reviews, commentary, candor, and the overall vibe of your channel (Yes, we Californians actually do use that word.) This video... really got to me. I want you both to know that you've done a great job of explaining and bringing this massive injustice with Orchard Music to light. I could see Jason's emotion and anger in this, and it really moved me. Everything you both said it true, and accurate, and from a place of honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, what we're seeing here is yet another example of the way corporatization and big business tramples on the rights (and livelihood) of individuals. When I see two people trying to bring something as authentic and genuine as you are trying to do with this channel, only to be targeted and deprived of the small amount of remuneration you deserve, it naturally angers all of us who subscribe to your channel and appreciate what you do. I wish I could say that I'm a corporate attorney with a background in international copyright law, and that I'll take your case pro-bono, but, unfortunately, I'm just a semi-retired computer networking engineer who shares your interest and hobby in synths and music gear. Orchard Music, however, is now near the top of my "Shit List" (along with Spitfire Audio, Christian Henson, and that lot.) Jason... bubba... for what it's worth, I want you to know that, although it's prudent for you guys not to risk your channel and content by continuing to go after them, what you did in this video WAS significant. You've exposed them as a group of absolute rogues and asses. I hope your health improves soon (unfortunately, complications like this are part of aging, as I well know myself). Keep your heads high, and know that you have an audience out here to whom your opinions and views matter greatly.

That's mental. For the legit track you're writing for Derek, join PRS and have it listed on PRS immediately. That's your evidence and date stamp.

Orchard are terrible for this. I'm terrified of re-making my old tunes from the 80s and 90s for just this reason. One example pertinent to me is a few years ago I heard an ad on TV for Channel 4 and the music was something I wrote with my Daughter which was musically identical, just in a different style. I contacted Channel 4 to find out where they got it from and it turned out to be from a music library company that professed to be "turning the industry upside down". Hmmm. The only place I can think of that it got it was a website community that people uploaded their music to and everyone commented on them. Suddenly the site disappeared due to a server crash and all the music was "lost" Makes you think. I've never uploaded music anywhere since. Cheers Lads 🤘

I’ve had this a few times, always dispute the claim - saying it’s your original composition. 99% of the time the other party doesn’t respond and you win by default.

Copyright is a terrible system. It doesn't work for you unless you have a team of lawyers to back it up. (who will of course cost more than any money you were going to make from your work any way). Independent musicians and KZbinrs are easy pray I'm afraid. We are being exploited regularly and it really is time that YT put in a few protections for creators rather than washing their hands and saying not our problem you guys sort it out among yourselves in court. Orchard music aren't the only unscrupulous thieves operating on YT doing this and it is straightforward daylight robbery. They don't even have the decency to wear a mask. Whether you do it a s a job, a hobby or even if you're channel isn't monetised yet, doesn't matter. Robbery is robbery and these highwaymen need to be brought to justice. Almost every single video I upload gets copyright claimed (I do guitar lessons) even though they are obviously educational videos my copyright disputes are often rejected. I'm sure you will have seen the Paul Davids video where he has a rant about his video on Dick Dales Misurlu being claimed by a company that had released a cover of it! unbelievable that they get away with it. So far I haven't had any of my original music claimed. The minute it is I will just remove the video, 'cos I don't write for some one else to make money.

Orchard is uploading fake Ai songs under my name and Spotify ,Apple Music and everyone else can't stop it.

Ive been on phone w Spotify and Apple everyday this week disputing songs that aren't mine. Every day 2 EPs are being uploaded to all platforms under my name. Spotify and KZbin are the only ones who have taken them all down. I can't get anyone to remove these songs and most platforms don't know how to resolve this.

There's loads of scammers and bad actor distributors. I had a lot of trouble with Horus music, if you know anybody releasing music, make sure you tell them to stay away from them. Good luck to you!

They striked my bird song video with copyright claim because a marsh warbler mimicked a goldfinch song, and they showed like i have taken from their video. My bird barely did it 1:1. How can u copyright a birdsong?? I explained detailed that I own my birdsongs and this bird mimics other birds but I felt like they didnt even read it, they kept their copyright. Deleting video and reuploading resolved it. I guess it was a random ai mess up, all other 40+ birdsongs I uploaded didnt get it. Now I have a new fear when uploading my birdsongs 😢
