We drive the entire Oregon Coast, from the California border to the Columbia River. Two lighthouses, sand dune, sea lions, idyllic beaches, and the famous city of Astoria are among the highlights.

Robert, thank you for your perspective on our coastline. It is very well done. Being a “SNOB” which stands for “ Society of Native Oregon Born”, I am proud of our coastline. Another proud fact that a lot of Americans are not aware of is that our entire coastline is publicly owned. That means that every foot of our coastline has public access. Pretty cool huh.

Fantastic video as always. Being from Glasgow, Scotland, I've been fortunate enough to travel to the states since 1984, the trip 4 years ago from California to Oregon was amazing, we stayed in yachats, manzanita and gold beach, it brings back great memories of the trip, can't wait to go back once everything returns to normal 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

From all my years traveling around the world as a merchant mariner, there is no coastline like that of the Beaver State, so for me, aside from all the magnificent locations you have visited and shared with us viewers - _nothing_ comes even close to this epic video. I'm glad to see we share the affinity for Augustin-Jean Fresnel's groundbreaking invention (the 1.st Order lens at Cape Blanco being a perfect example!), and lighthouses in general, as this particular stretch of coast offers a great number of. (And so far I'm just watching you leave the trailer park headed for Coos bay, so now I'll just sit back and soak up and enjoy the impressions from the rest of this magic tour of coastal exploration!) Thanks a lot for sharing this with us Robert . . . ⛯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💓

I got to meet the owners of the Goonies house years ago. They're good people. They used to allow people to walk up the driveway. They even gave tours of the house on occasion. Too many people abused the privilege. They left garbage on the grounds, walked on the porch, even looked in the windows. They were very gracious in the beginning. I think it just got overwhelming.

Excellent video. As a resident of Oregon since 1963 and growing up in Corvallis, I spent a great deal of time visiting the Central Oregon Coast between Newport and Yachats. I still live in the mid Willamette Valley with the coast only an hour and a half away. My wife and I spend many weeks each summer camping along the entire coast. When you come back for your three week adventure you should check out the many beautiful Oregon State Park campgrounds. You can make reservations nine months in advance and most are open year round. I am glad you enjoyed your visit.

A few years back, I lived 15 months in Oregon. This video made me miss it so much. Great video! They have gas attendant to pump the gas because so many logging mills closed up that they needed to provide jobs for those laid off workers. I actually miss having my gas pumped for me. It was quite a luxury. If you have any hippie in you, the Oregon country fair the first weekend in July is other worldly. It takes place right outside of Eugene OR. Look at some of the YT videos. And... I love you music! It actually rings in my head sometimes.

This is my favorite section of America. Small fishing towns, yes some are a bit touristy but it's usually only apply to a couple streets of each town. Plenty of good affordable seafood restaurants. Most of the highway is along the coast. Favorite activities, clamming and crabbing. Razor clam, dungeness crab, geoduck clam and rock crab are some of the best, just don't forget to grab the license ($28 which you more than make up with a bucket full of clams or a pod of crabs).

Thank you Robert for taking the time to document this drive. I made that drive in June last summer, 2019 and it was very fun to relive it through your video. It's amasing how much one misses while driving. Having to keep my eyes one the road. My journey started in Joshua Tree. Then to Malibu Creek State Park, to see the M.A.S.H. set, and then up the cost. I left the cost after driving through Astoria and headed to Mount St Hellens, Yellowstone then home. I agree with you fully how beautiful the drive is and I also plan on returning to do that drive again spending more time exploring. Stay safe and have fun! Again thanks for posting!

Your awesome Robert. We don’t tip for gas. But a cup of coffee is a must. 😆. I wish I was riding along. My husband is a 59 year old old fart! Thank you, I am from Oregon.

What a great video! Thanks you for showing us the coast of Oregon. I watched your 2019 trips for entire weekend with my wife. We had some road trip just the same yours, but the northeast point of mine was Redwood and Oregon boarder. We will definitely visit Oregon coast line someday.

Great to ride shotgun up the Oregon coast with you, Robert! I did the same trip north-to-south a couple of years ago. So much scenery, so many neat little towns...and just never enough time to see it all!

Yea Robert, they are really touchy here about pumping your own gas. Honestly, I think it is more of a revenue thing than a safety thing. If you have a motorcycle some stations will let you pump your own gas. Fred Meyer is a Northwest chain of stores- often referred to by the locals as just "Freddys". Thanks, Russ from Oregon
