I think you inadvertently described the editorial decisions behind much of the New 52: "[they] seemed to lack the lack the wisdom that time and experience should have provided." Ouch. Having said that, thanks to this video, Andrew Bennet is on my radar and I will check out that series.

Andrew is more like Hannibal King and Blade to Deborah Dancer for a Dhampir.

The house of mystery run is what hooked me into comics . At one time I had nearly 10 thousand comics as an adult I trimmed my collection down considerably. Only have about 300 books left . House of mystery series is still in my collection

The Bronze Age until about 80 or 81 had the best covers. I don't know if it has something to do with the printing technology being used at the time, but when that tech improved, something was lost.

I really enjoy your bio pieces on lesser known characters, giving them the attention they often times deserve. Well done, keep it up.

I loved this collection when I first got it in 2012. Great storytelling. The N52 had so much potential. I am glad though stuff can still be done with him.

Started reading these in HOM back in the 80's but got distracted and never finished. Kinda bummed now.

Those old horror comic covers are wonderful. Covers lost something over the course of the '80s.

I think I’ll stick with the Tom Sutton classics…He always brought something creepy with a touch of humour in his best work.👍🏻

Sadly, and it's also too late to say that it's a "better love story than twilight"! Because it is. Like, way fucking better..
