I don't think The Question would work in a solo TV series. Instead, I think it would work better to have a non-specific series that can feature many characters. It would be like the The NBC Mystery Movie, which featured many different rotating characters, including Columbo (who appeared in one movie a month). Every so often they could do an excellent Question movie.

The hub city anchor and objectivism with a detective's intellect that rivals Batmans. Focus and Resourcefulness towards life and crime.

I actually liked the Renee Montoya version of The Question, but, like everything else, the New 52 screwed THAT up.
@matthewjarek30263 жыл бұрын
I really grew to love Montoya as a character after reading Gotham Central and 52. DC was able to translate her from a minor character created for a cartoon into a complex, strong, and proudly gay police officer and superhero. While I will always prefer Vic Sage’s Question because I grew up with JLU and read my Dad’s copies of his old solo series (They’re very good!), I do think she is a worthy successor. I hate how Vic is underused even though he’s alive in the Rebirth. If DC does make a Question movie or TV series I hope they have both versions in it to please both sides of the fandom, don’t kill off Vic like they did in the comics, and give the duo a relationship like Sherlock and Watson or Mulder and Scully. The Question was supposed to appear in the Arrowverse at some point, but DC took the rights back for their movie universe or something. Nothing has been announced so far. 😤
@kali36653 жыл бұрын
@@matthewjarek3026 Agreed. That would be fun if DC has the guts to do it. I don't think they do. But DC certainly won't ever do The Question as Steve Ditko imagined him: an Ayn Rand conspiracy theorist. No one needs to see THAT!
@midshipman86542 жыл бұрын
@@kali3665 idk, that sounds pretty entertaining to me. play him as neither a pure good or bad guy. people seem to really like his conspiracy angle from JLU. why dont you think people wouldn’t want to see it?
@kali36652 жыл бұрын
@@midshipman8654 Not that we wouldn't want to see it, but I can't imagine DC going out of its way to present an Ayn Randian The Question exactly as Ditko created him. Playing off the conspiracy theorist part of the character works better for the modern era, and that's how the DCAU presents him. Still, I liked Renee's version simply because she always had a lot of issues to work out, and being The Question helps her do so. Did you see The Other History of the DC Universe? One issue focuses on Renee and sets very clearly how she sees The Question and her role.
@midshipman86542 жыл бұрын
@@kali3665 I mean, i dont think you have to go “out of your way” to do it. just give him that sort of ethos. dont have to make his stories Atlas Shrugs lite or anything. Can still use the og character’s bent while making it less of a self insert without redacting its essence. Just like you dont need to make a daoist character quote the entire Tao Te Ching. I havent read Renee’s runs yet, but ive always found her design to be pretty on point. tbh, the question, in shear design terms is just a really evocative one.
