This is a short segment from Professor Walter Veith's "The Wine of Babylon" video from his Total Onslaught seminar. You can see more at amazingdiscover....
Update: Sorry, I meant to title this video The ORIGIN of Christmas, not the HISTORY of Christmas.

@cpossenriede I totally agree that we should celebrate the birth of CHRIST,but we cannot just replace it with a pagan holiday.Stamping the pagan holiday with CHRIST DOES NOT MAKE HIS BIRTHDAY OR A HOLY DAY FOR CHRISTIANS. Jeremiah 10:1-2 Learn not the ways or the customs of the heathens because their customs are in vain.

@cpossenriede Certainly it is wonderful to give glory to God, and to be generous and give gifts to those who are less fortunate, and be cheerful and spread brotherly love. This video shows the error in our celebrations of His incorrect birthdate and shows how nearly every aspect of the Christmas holiday stems from pagan roots. The question that begs to be answered is who are we really celebrating on Dec 25?

This is something he won't share with you. For those of you who know the books and believe the inspiration - “Shall We Have a Christmas Tree?”-God would be well pleased if on Christmas each church would have a Christmas tree on which shall be hung offerings, great and small, for these houses of worship. Thanks for the comment Bob. I agree that giving to others and spending time with family (Christmas values) is a good thing, but kissing under mistletoe? Some all-knowing, immortal, omnipresent being other than God being called a Saint (St Nicholas)? Hanging offerings and jewels on a tree because pagans did it? ... I find it interesting as to how these "Christmas values" fit within the Christian church when they are no where listed in the Bible (even the birth date of Dec 25 is most likely wrong). Giving to others and being cheerful, yes, that is good. But why only have one day out of the year set aside to give to others? It is a daily practice of Jesus.

Bob Winsor I looked for that quote about the Christmas tree, which I guess is supposed to be by Ellen white or maybe the Adventist Church. Could you describe better where I can find it,please? Thank you. God bless you. 🙏

While I love Ellen White, I don't put her words above the Bible. I am all for giving and helping and evangelizing, but to mingle these good acts with paganism I will not. We can do all these good acts without having to compromise. Jeremiah chapter 3 tells of every ABOMINATION done under EVERY green tree. That leaves NO ONE with ANY excuse to use a Christmas tree no matter how good the intentions are. Worldly mixed with holy equals strange fire and death is the punishment.

Golden Hopes Hello. I am a SDA. I saw your post a minute ago, and the post you replied to, from a man named Bob Windsor. In it, he referred to a quote from ellen white. So I googled what he said, and went to the official Ellen White website that mentioned his reference. I too take exception to the idea of mixing pagan things with Godly things. And it seems strange that a prophet of God would seem to endorse doing things on a day like Christmas. However, as I read what she wrote in all the areas pertaining to Christmas, it seemed as though she pointed out many things that we would agree on, such as the Christmas being used in wrong ways, and Jesus Christ's birthday wasn't December 25. I haven't read all she wrote about it yet. And WHY she would not know, or mention, about how it came to be is still a mystery to me that I need to research. I'd love to hear Dr. Veith's explanation. But because there are so many things that show me she was a true prophetess of God, I figure I must be missing some good reason why that would be. For myself, with what I've learned, I don't think I want to celebrate it anymore because I don't think mixing paganism and Godly things is good. I'm including a link here: whiteestate.org/legacy/issues-christmas-html/#The%20Day%20Not%20to%20Be%20Ignored%20With%20Children. so that you can go to that webpage where it had the official writings of Ellen white in the subject. You know, there are those who say some of Ellen whites writings have been compromised. Maybe this is one of them, if that's true. However, I can see what she has written about the end times is right on target. So until I find something that show me she is a false prophet, I'll stick with her on those things that I see are happening now. Prophets in the Bible did not always fit the perfect mold we think they should. I mean, I look at Jonah and look how he behaved with God and even when he finally complied, he was mad that God didn't destroy the Ninevites. If I had been there and had heard him talking negatively about that situation, I would probably think he was a false prophet just for being upset with God. And then I think about how just because they were a prophet of God, it didnt make them non-sinners. Now, if they said "this message is from God" and THEN it was something contrary to God's Word, I'd believe they were a false prophet. Well, I hope this makes sense. I'm not really replying to your comment as if I'm correct you or disagreeing with you in any way. I just noticed that that guy Bob pulled one line out of many, many like es and paragraphs on the subject and used it as if it discredits Ellen white completely. And I don't agree with that. There is more to being a prophet than being right in every word they say. As if they couldn't err in some fashion at certain times. Except when they identify in their speaking or writing that it was an official word from God, I figure they can make errors and it's alright. God bless you. 🙏
