Nightcrawler was always one of my favorite characters, not only is his power awesome but the fact that he looks demonic bit is very religious created a cool dynamic that you don't get to see very often. And the fact his father only wanted to get a child with his powers to save his people from the hellish dimension he travels through, makes his childhood that much more interesting

Kurt is a man with a kind heart who knew where to seek aid when demonic entities are around......to THE LORD. As youth and a non believer, I rolled my eyes at Kurts' faith. As an adult Christian, I appreciate Kurt being portrayed as a man of faith .

Actually his original concept was a demon for DC comics. When brought to Marvel, Nightmare was supposed to be his dad. That was also shot down, then he came up with the Mystique/Destiny child, which was also shot down…until recently.

Nightcrawler is one my favorite super heroes of all. He represents the true meaning of being a x-men. He has demonic look is and usually one of the main targets of the prejuice the x-men are victims, with the humans constantly using him as exemple of how mutant are dangerous monsters just because of his physical look. In this situation it would have been easy to have Kurt as angry, torture anti-hero but is not the case. Despite the way he is treat by people, he is one the most optmistic, kind-hearted and heroic characters in all comics.

Here’s a tidbit most of you didn’t know. Night crawler was created on the pacific island of Guam. Dave cockrum the creator was on the U.S. territory of Guam during a strong typhoon. The power was out and the winds were loud. Completely terrified, Cockrum wanted to teleport of the island. He then fumbled with the idea of a hero that can teleport.
