These ships would be dirt cheap, which is probably why they bought them if they're putting lasers on them, but are known to develop cracks in their hull due to early welding. This would often lead to the ships breaking apart, not only in rough seas but in calm waters as well.

I was not expecting to wake up and see Shylily lore but it’s the best thing ever. Where to start? Art. It has such a soft tone to it, the backgrounds and inanimate objects are nicely done. Foreground and expressions have a lovely extra layer of flexibility and dynamic to them. It was such a good decision to get Merryweather on this project. They’re not afraid to mix up styles a little especially for facial expressions that are reminiscent of popular manga and anime styles. Voice acting. Very cool to keep it simple, hear the Lily we love while also choosing apt people to voice the various other characters. The VAs for the Orca and Head Scientist need a medal for that. Just how I’d expect a benevolent sea creature, and a power hungry and knowledge thirsty person to sound. Storytelling. The pinnacle of it all. I like the sort of hybridisation between old YT animations and something that is new and you. The backstory of being chosen by a being of nature really feels inspired by animations like The Guardian and Shandzii’s Ship in a Bottle animatic. In that regard it has a serious and rich tone to the storytelling. However it’s also relaxed and really sends home the idea you were just having fun goofing off with this story with how relaxed you are as the main character, dialogue choices, the off-brand names (lmao) and generally unconventional language you’d expect in such an animation. Arguably it may undermine any serious settings like the drowning scene which felt oddly relaxed for a near death scenario but it’s your story so whose place is it to say after all. At the end of the day, a happy lil girl became a god and thought nothing of it. No amount of power was enough to sway her passion for adventure, to see the world, and that’s what matters most. It truly represents your good character. Because no matter how famous you get, there will still be that love for the audience. The shrimps that aided you in a time of need. Couldn’t be a more beautiful nod and ‘thank you’ to the audience. Thank you Lily, for a wonderful and unique story! Womp womp!
