And one big part of the tourism being down is their regulations were SUPER strict during Covid and I believe it's still pretty hard to get visas. Also, from what I've heard, the Chinese government has really been encouraging domestic tourism instead of Chinese citizens traveling internationally, so a lot of Chinese people including most of my Chinese friends have been traveling to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu (where the pandas live), and Sanya (Chinese Thailand essentially).
