I still have this apple speaker which I picked up from a garage sale a few years ago for just $30. I have to say its better than most speakers today, bass kicks and is soo loud, can even shake the house. I still use the speaker very regularly.

I own an Ipod Hifi by myself an i think it´s the most underrated apple product on the marked. The sound is so clear and crispy. And the bass give you a soubwoofer feeling. Just use a bluethoot connector and everything is fine :)

LOL....I do use this speaker! I bought my speaker from Best Buy in 2006. it still is the best sounding speaker especially for workouts. I even used it recently when my daughter's team hosted a basketball tourney. this small speaker filled the entire gym! lots & lots of bass.

First of all, no need to call anyone a dumbass. Secondly, unfortunately Siri does not only trigger when *I* say "Hey Siri". I have experienced lots of occasions where Siri would trigger accidentally, like this video. Even random gaming-related videos cause it to trigger. And on top of that it also triggers sometimes when I'm just having a casual conversation with a friend, not saying anything remotely close to "Hey Siri". So, for next time, please do some research before you call someone a dumbass. Have a nice day.

I've had one for years after finding it dumped on the street. Someone probably dumped it because they stopped using their ipod. It worked fine and I've been using it with the aux input ever since. Apple really got the design of the box right. It sounds great

I love mine. That's one hell of a free speaker. The aux jack is the only way I can use mine. The original iPods were so heavy, the 30 pin jacks are hit or miss. If anyone is looking at buying a used one, make sure the aux jack is good. It is all you will need.

I have a pair of the HiFi speakers. One is for blasting the garage, the other is for blasting our big attic. I took one of them with me to somewhere around 14 different countries to repair aircraft. I remember my boss in Luton England, he saw me carrying the HiFi as we were waiting for the bus, asked if I brought a toaster. I said.. "Oh Yeah. Gonna toast the whole hangar". I have been asked to turn it down a few times. In hangars that fit 747's in them.

I have been doing this from last year. How I do it is by using iPhone 4s with iPod hifi, as iPhone 4s is the last apple device that use 30pin and support iOS 9, which means it support apple and hey Siri. It works really well, and the sound quality is actually really competitive in the price range, I mean compare with other dock speaker, not with actually 2.0 speaker. It is the best dock speaker I have ever used til today, and I don't think homepod will have better sound quality than this due to physical limitation.

For a few years I used mine at work with a bluetooth adaptor...HUGE sound. Currently it's being used as my tv speaker and also connected to a powered subwoofer while we wait for my Klipsch home theater setup to arrive. Either way, it is an awesome speaker..park it somewhere in your house ,add bluetooth adaptor and have fun. btw...the reason a regular bluetooth 30 pin adaptor wont work is because there isnt a 'power' circuit in the apple hifi 30pin. Thus it cant provide power to run the bluetooth portion of a 30pin adaptor. To my knowledge the Apple hifi is the only Apple device that doesnt like 30 pin bluetooth adaptors. Almost any other apple speaker like device that has 30pin can use a 30pin bluetooth adaptor EXCEPT the hifi...GO FIGURE

I have it connected to TV and it's way better than basic TV speakers. No much electronics, just a 3.5 jack it may last forever... by far much better invested money than tens of smartphone, tablets that are garbage in a couple of years!

Those of us in the know have more than one and each coupled with an airport express in the room of your choice (lounge, bedroom. kitchen for example) we've been air playing from a MAC, round the home for years......or on a camping trip (30 pin bluetooth as shown) ..... and yes it's louder than Johnathan dared show! Think the only reason it came to a quick demise was the damm things couldn't charge the newer 30pin iPods released in 2007/2008 when docked! These were/are seriously awesome and in my view Apple should of resurrected and upgraded what they already had?
