The "Original" Country Bear Jamboree

Enjoy the "original" Country Bear Jamboree, recorded in May of 2012. This is the original version that opened with The Magic Kingdom, in Oct '71. The show has since been edited for time and content, quickening up the pace, but at the loss of it's heart and charm. If you haven't seen the original version, pay close attention to the banter between Henry, the host and Buff, Max and Melvin, the heads on the wall. Most of all, enjoy!

I’ll miss it forever! The edited down version is a slight improvement in some ways, but I’ll always prefer this ending where he sings with Sammy for longer

Probably to avoid needing to fix them so much because of some songs they moved more and faster I think. Or just to make it shorter for some reason

The characters definitely looked extremely clunky here and were definitely in need of some cosmetic and mechanical repairs but cutting the show as harshly as they did was unnecessary. I did however like the upgrades to the bears fur and skins but some of them such as Wendell and liver lips look a bit grotesque now rather than cute

You know, with computer technology being so advanced these days, there is no way they can't rotate between the old show and the recently opened show throughout the day. They can probably run the whole thing from a laptop and program all the characters and soundtrack to sync up based on whichever show they choose to run.

i can definetely say some fixes were necessary, i mean listen to the end a lot of voiceboxes were either malfunctioning or too low, some mechanics and such were need of fixing (like teds head), but some things were unnecessary they cut too much of the show, and some of the dialogue for max, buff and melvin. the bears fur now really look clunky as for before it was very silky

I don’t think there are “voiceboxes” for the individual characters. The showtape with all the audio as one file is played on the speakers in the building and the animatronics move in sync with it. But the animatronics do not produce sound on their own.

@@toilet0609they don’t have voice boxes it could be that when they were mixing the master audio they turned bill Coles (Wendell’s voice actor) voice up to get a good flow in
