The major problem with these is the fact that the memory on these is not rewritable (unless you have specific hardware, but results vary), but thankfully the memory is quite easy to replace. Battery life is fantastic, and even though you can use just about any stylus on it, they tend to stop working for some reason after a few months with heavy use. Also, each one has a custom font, unique to each user. It's quite the marvelous design, and very forward thinking (pun not intended).

So you are right, they we're around even after the personal computer and laptop generation came about in the early 80's. And yes, my dad would go to work every day with his THINK pad in his business suit jacket pocket. I was just browsing through IBM vids you have up and immediately recognized this small pad. I doubt they used gold edged paper in the 80's and 90's and my dad's was red in color, but that unmistakenable gold embossed logo and the leather'y feel was still on the last pad I found. I've watched so many of your videos through the years that i could probably listen to you talk about wallpaper for 15 minutes and it would be interesting.

You know Clint/LGR is an amazing channel when you can watch a video about a Note Pad that still feels interesting to watch even if the title at first seemed click-baity but then you get all the context why it's the Original IBM Think Pad

I often get the feeling when people say "people don't think" they are really criticizing people who don't agree with them. I also think this is what people who really don't think would think. Ditto for people who bemoan a lack of "common sense", its more a lack of "common consensus".

For me, it's literal. It seems to me, and that whole Tide Pod thing is a perfect example, that people sometimes act before they think, if they think about it at all. That's also the problem with a lack of common sense, they just don't think before they do something stupid. It's probably also why you see so much bandwagon jumping.

The problem with that philosophy is that it's the same multiple opinion degrading the value of truth that we've seen in recent decades. It rids any common man of the possibility of pointing out the obvious and be taken seriously. Oh, it's _just_ an opinion!

In fact I enjoy everything you present with your charming voice. LGR, vwestlife, and shango066 are my favorite voices on KZbin for felling comfy and calm. Thank you Clint and have a nice day.

LGR Man, Bring me a Vid. Make it the best, without any Sin. Make it about a time with little Computers, though they're the size of JuPiTer. LGR Man (Yeesss?), I'm so Alone, ain't got Nobody to call my Own. So, Let the video BeGin. LGR Man Bring me a Vid!
Did anyone else expect the Metropolitan at the beginning to be a fountain pen? We need to get Clint into those...especially the vintage ones. Thanks for the great content as always, sir (although you'll probably never see this).
