Former Red Roses Emma Mitchell, Karen Almond and Gill Burns tell the story of England's first-ever Rugby World Cup win in 1994, and how losing the final in 1991 was the inspiration for their redemption.

Thank you ladies. I'm sure all those in New Zealand today contesting the world cup now will be forever grateful of your efforts and sacrifices. So glad England Rugby have given us all an insight into your contribution to women's rugby. I say again thank you!

Wow , I remember all those faces when I played for Newport against all the big clubs in England. The highlight of my year was Wales v England , and the World Cup was amazing . I had a few tears watching and thinking what if we had the support back then the girls have today!!

Brilliant! I've become a massive supporter of the Red Roses over the past few years and it's good to hear these stories from the women who are the foundation of what we have now. I have my fingers crossed for the World Cup, but believe that the current team have the skills and the determination required to lift it at the end. I only wish my daughters had played, but neither of them are particularly 'sporty', so I have hopes for the granddaughters!

I remember watching that at the tender age of 24 ! Always enjoyed any Rugby no matter what gender plays it or age or diversity. But Thank you again for bringing the women's game to a place it has long be overdue to occupy. P.S no relation to Mr Richard Flint...

At the end of the second World Cup shown here the announcer said that England had beat the "Eagles". I'm not sure about that. I know that the USARFU had refused to allow the first women's team to call themselves "Eagles" and I'm not at all sure that they had reversed that decision by the time the 2nd Cup came around. These women had a lot of adversity to overcome just to be permitted any bit of recognition.

I've never understood the reticent towards women's rugby. There have been women in sprinting, long distance, judo, tennis, table tennis, wrestling and the list on. there is equality in so many sports, but some think it limited. They were, are wrong, and history has shown them to be wrong.

Watching women crash into eachother is in no way attractive that's why men don't gravitate towards it secondly the game is much much slower also nobody wants to watch masculine women do anything
