Terraria bullethells are really hard, I do agree. Not only do you have strange vertical movement (accelerating flight and slow falling), your character is twice as tall as they are wide

My work around I found was with QWERTY's mod's Soul Rod, which moves you to your mouse position while in use more akin to Touhou, it's probably the main reason I could handle Mutant even on Masochist mode

The difference with Terraria bullet hells is that the screen moves with you, which makes dodging a lot harder.

@@speedymatt1236 Looked it up since I just started right before the Labor of Love update. Enemies seem more annoying than fun and the rapid spinning of jumbo cactaur made him physically hurt to look at. At least some of the items look interesting on paper, but the requirement to interact with aforementioned annoying enemies for maximum power would be a deal breaker if it was ported to 1.4 in that state.

@ the spinning when you leave the desert is for comedic purposes, just dont leave the biome and you'll get a normal fight jumbo cactuar has been overall reworked for the 1.4 port tho

I honestly find the chest item cool, adding bosses like that to modpacks that give qol/grinding progress that are completely optional but still very useful is just a cool idea for mods that dont want to clash with bigger mods

Ultimate Potions Mod has like 4 potions that practically give godmode and I think one of them prevents you from even being hit which allows you to cheese these bosses that normally bypass godmode

I remember I fought a rematch with the spirit of purity a couple of years ago. To my surprise, it was easy (relatively) because it turned out that to pass it you can just farm its stages to perfection and come to the last checkpoint with 10 lives, which makes it a lot easier. It was fun, but I doubt that I can repeat it now.

for spirit of purity rematch. each sigil tracks the lives you had when you reached the phase where the sigil was given, if you reach 80% with 10 lives, you are given 10 lives, if you reach 60% with 10, same applies, and so on and so forth for the people who have a brain.

The enraged spirit of purity is probably my favorite fight of these since it's the hardest fight I've ever beaten (I even still have a video of that on my channel), modern superbosses like the nameless deity just don't come close to that difficulty anymore which is a shame

the sheer amount of hours spent trying to no-hit Spirit of Purity was painful, I remember when I beat it I wasn't even stoked, just glad to be done with it as it took so damn long. this wasn't no-hitting just each segment either, the whole thing in one go. since then I've never made an attempt at no-hitting a Superboss ever again.

I believe there was a magic weapon in Calamity that did something similar, where you held attack and it had like magic gears or something on screen.. and I thought it did mention Blushie, so that must of been a weapon that was made to honor this mod, as a throwback weapon, but an updated version??? I thought it was like a donator item, and I didn't even know Blushie was the creator of tmod.. hmmm.... it all makes sense now, as long as I am remembering that item correctly. I don't even know if it is still in modern day Calamity or not. I've also never played this mod. I'm not good at Terraria bullet hell bosses either, but I would like to grind them and actually get good.

mod version of GodMode didn't work, so I doubt that vanilla one will work. Blushie generally kill by decreasing max HP rather than pure damage. but it still won't be possible to check because... mod is stuck on version 1.3.
