Average people say oh, a good guitar player. It truly takes an advanced guitar player to appreciate the genius in what he is doing. Timing, speed, chord changes, chord repertoire, intricacies, musicality, and most importantly he does all this on a fucking acoustic, alone. Without a doubt the most proficient master of this instrument.
@probudil24928 жыл бұрын

django Reinhardt for example made less notes, he could also play so fast but for him it had no sence, sometimes less is more
@adamg95188 жыл бұрын
I firmly disagree. As a guitarist it is MUCH harder to replicate Emmanuel compared to Reinhardt. Do you play guitar? If not I really think its just not your flavour of music. Gypsy swing is very simple compared to Emmanuels blues. Maybe check out Al di meola and Paco De Lucia collaboration on Mediterranean Sundance. Although not swing, its a more intricate peice in minor that would more mirror Emmanuels music in a different style/genre

Tommy Emmanuel is true to his name! He is blessed. A virtuoso musician in every sense. I am a classical pianist but this musician is in the calibre of a living Vivaldi. His playing is wild, free, and phenomenal!!
@palmarolavlklingholm9684 Жыл бұрын
Hold on! did you say Vivaldi? That is ridiculous. I am sorry. But Tommy technically is a great guitarist. But when he plays the acoustic guitar, he usually show no sign of understanding music at all. He just goes full bore show off. No emotions, no musicality at all. Give him an electric guitar on the other hand. and he really is great.

bunk man Keep finding new Tommy videos that just blow me away. Loved SRV for 30 years, favorite is Live at the El Macombo. Stevie partook in the chemicals obviously and instead of having both onstage you know what would be really telling - Tommy playing a Strat through a Tube Screamer after getting hammered and doing an 8-ball. I think your right. Under the same circumstances Tommy may have ripped harder than SRV. Really pains me to say that.
