Okay so I just had a thought. Klaus wants Caroline to kill him after her children put the Hollow in him. Essentially making his daughter an Orphan. Hope struggled with Hayley's death and blaming herself. So not long after she begins to recover from that daddy dearest wants to get himself euthanized- because of Hope. So then Hope either goes on a downward spiral after being the unintentional source of both her parents deaths or she turns evil and goes after Caroline and the twins because she needs someone to blame. I don't get why they don't see if the hollow can be transferred to an animal, then contain or kill said animal. Animals are linked to nature and if a tree can be used in an immortal spell, why not animals?

It wasn't just any tree! every tree or plant dies after a period of time but the White Oak Tree is one of Nature's Eternal objects meaning as long as it is not destroyed purposefully with extreme means or nature exists it will last for millions to billions of years if not forever it is an extremely powerful object and basically The Holy Grail of ingredients for Witches in Spells,Elixirs,Rituals etc that is why the Immortality of the whole Vampire Race comes from it. Now to your question of why the Hollow had to go into Klaus,you see Inadu(the hollow) is one of the most powerful witches of all time in the TVD Universe no normal animal,plant, ordinary or dark or mystical objects,human can imprison the hollow they would instantly blast off into pieces or be possessed allowing the hollow to be free even a witch or werewolf body or a very old vampire or any other supernatural would instantly be possessed allowing freedom to the hollow so only extremely powerful near indestructible immortals like Original Vampires or perhaps Phoenixes would imprison the hollow without dying and not be possessed so that they can be killed along with the hollow so not many candidates were left thus Klaus had to take Inadu(the hollow) with him and die

Klaus’s death (not to mention Elijah’s) made zero sense and was done only so that Joseph wouldn’t have to be in the Legacies (which is a terrible show). Hope could have just been killed, Hollow would be gone and she would become a tribrid making her much more interesting. I’d rather have that as ending. Legacies should never happen and Klaroline would have their happy ending.
