I understand that Klaroline isn't the most ideal ship because of the circumstances in which their characters found themselves in. Klaus was the villian. He continuously tried to kill Caroline's friends and tried to make everybody miserable. But let us not forget that things could have happened way more peacefully if Damon and Stefan hadn't gotten it in their heads that Elijah wasn't to be trusted. He had a plan to make sure Elena was still alive after the ritual to unbind Klaus's werewolf side. And once it came out that dopelganger blood was needed to make hybrids, all Elena would have needed to do was give Klaus some blood every once in a while. But they constantly betrayed the tentative truces they had with the Originals because they thought Klaus was gonna kill them anyway. Klaus only ever did that messe up stuff when they went against him. And even then, lets not forget that they Killed Kol, and let Klaus sit with his body for hours. Klaus is no saint, he did many bad things, and Caroline and her froends did as well. But the intrigue of the Klaroline Ship was that even though they were enemies, wgenever they were together, even if Caroline was supposed to be distracting Klaus to make sure plans went accordingly, they were always able to build a larger bond with each other. And that bond they have is built upon understanding. Klaus and Caroline are supposed to be like 2 sides of the same coin, they went through many of the same experiences and are very similar to ecah other when it comes down to it. Caroline was always able to dee the good in Klaus because when she looked him in the eyes that first time he came to save her, she was able ti see it. She could see the empathy and understanding and all the darkness in his heart, but she could see that small glimpse of light. But she knew her friends would ahte her if she tried to pursue him, which is why she always resisted his advances. The rest of their encounters together would only make their feelins for each other stornger, no matter how much they they were angry with each other, they always found themselves having fun and meaningful conversations. Now with Cami, i won't deny that Klaus didn't love her. He did. But you can't deny that his initial attraction to her was due to how much she reminded him of Caroline. It was only spending more tine with her and getting to know her and vice versa, that he was able to let go of Caroline. It is something like how if you love soemthing let it go, and if it comes back it is yours. That last encounter Klaroline had in the woods was Klaus recognizing that Caroline still wants to experience her life as much as possible before she fully commits to vampire life. She was already pretty accepting of it, but she was still caught up on having her human experiences. He always knew that she had feelings for him, its incredibly obvious. He always knew that eventually, she would come back to him, and he knew it would be a long time ahead. So when he goes back to New Orleans, he wasn't intending to fall in love with Cami, but he did becasue she was an amazing person who helped him be a better man, she had all of Caroline's traits and more of her own unique ones that made everybody love her. So he decided to let Caroline live her life. Cami was human, it wasn't likely that she would still be around centuries later because Klaus and Marcel and everybody else always tried their best to keep Cami out of it, and when she was in the thick of the situation, they made sure she was safe. But that light that Cami always said she could see, that is the same light Caroline saw. Caroline opened up his heart again. She made Klaus recognize that he could still ceel kindness and compassion and empathy for other people. Camille built upon that and kept the door from closing up. Hope just kept kicking until the door was gone. Caroline, Camille and Hope were all integral parts of redeeming Klaus. But Cami is dead. Stefan is dead. The only logical choice left was Klaroline. Julie Plec just never liked Klaroline because she never understood the appeal it had. I know, i kind of went all over the place and i necer really got into how Stefan fit into everything, but if I do, this will be ten times longer and people are probably already tired of reading this long rant. But basically my point in all of this is that Klaroline is endgame and they deserved better. And finally, just because the circumstances in which their feelings began to develop was rough because thsy were enemies, the relationship between Klaus and Caroline isn't anymore toxic or disgusting than Klaus and Camille or Marcel and Camille, Katherine and Elijah, Katherine and either if the Salvatores, etc. All the official ships that we love from the TVD universe have run into their rough patches, but not a lot of them can be considered truly toxic and bad. Because when it comes down to it, whether the relationship ended on good or bad terms, no matter who ot was between, they all helped each other become better people and just made it easier for them to be the vest versions of themselves, with the people they are meant to be with. In fact, the appeal of any ship should be that they help each other become better people and that all prior experiences and relationships are just stepping stones to the endgame pairings because without all those relationships that happened before, the cahracters will not have matured and became better characters and love interests

ik this is late, but his meeting with cami had nothing to do with caroline. if he really saw caroline in cami then he would've striked up a conversation the second he saw her, but he didn't. he only talked to her after he saw that she had the same interest and admiration in art just like he did, this is something that caroline never had. And caroline have similar traits but so does every female in tvdu. caroline was a cheerleader in highschool and just entered college as a drama major. she was bubbly, outgoing, optimistic, confident, judgemental and overdramatic. cami was a bartender with a major in psychology. she was mature, intelligent, brave, courageous, hopeful, serious and a listener. the difference between cami and caroline is that cami understood art, while caroline couldn't. this is actually important since elijah mentioned that art was klaus's humanity. so since cami could understand art, she saw klaus's humanity and caroline couldn't as much. another difference is that caroline believes that people are evil, but cami doesn't. not just for klaus, but she also tried to help elijah, mikael, aurora, lucien by trying to understand them. and caroline didn't really change klaus since he mentioned he did good things because she asked for it but not because he changed and elijah mentioned that klaus had no change in behavior. both cami and caroline may have been able to see the good in klaus, but klaus knew that cami saw more light in him. which is why he hallucinated cami during the 5 years in his imprisonment because he saw her as his angel. so klaus didn't fall in love with cami because she was like caroline, he fell in love with her because she knew she was the only one capable to understanding him, seeing the light in him and being on his side. which is why he trusted her more than caroline.

Julie Plec has already confirmed that Caroline and Klaus were supposed to end up and find themselves in Paris as originally planned. However, when they introduced the storyline with Stefan as her new love interest (Stelena was supposed to be the actual ending, but Nina Dobrev left the show and they never were able to guide them back to each other) they paired the two of them together, which didn't leave room for Klaus and Caroline to happen. Since Stefan was considered her epic romance, they didn't see the point of having Caroline travel the world with Klaus because they saw it as Caroline would never love another man as strong as she did Stefan. Even though her and Klaus had undeniable chemistry, it wasn't enough to take away the love Caroline had for Stefan. In my dreams, they ended up together. Screw that ending.

My biggest problem is that Klaus finally became someone that Caroline could be with, she felt safe with him, she trusted him and was happy to see him change. Yet, they still took him away from her. Now, I understand that Joseph didn’t want to appear as Klaus in the Legacies but there are still other options. If you asked me, since Caroline is not on the show, they could both die fighting for their daughters and go travel around the world in the afterlife. Everything would be better than killing off 3 major characters that we all loved for so many years. Because of this, I have zero respect for Plec and no interest in watching any of her new projects.

Yep, that's what writers did for so many years - without a really good reason they were killing off relationships (Elijah+Kathryn, Klaroline, Bonenzo) or killing people for the sake of new shows - that's why Stefan died (even though he didn't save the city and didn't have to sacrifice himself), Hayley, Elijah and Klaus as well, so they would not interfere with Hope (which still sucks, because we could have so many other options to get them out of the show without actually dying). Then Caroline and Bonnie survived, yet none of them appeared on show which is crazy, because Bonnie would be perfect teacher for witches and Caroline could act like a mother for twins and Hope. What is abominable is that in this show nobody dies for real, everyone can get ressurected. Legacies could ba a nice show on its own but as a spin off it carries expectations that writers simply don't want to meet. But they could, easily.

I think that in this entire season caroline was showed as a friend to klaus and not as a love interest! Like they both had moved on as they had been through a lot in the past years! They do had feelings for each other but were buried deep down! The writers didn't give enough time for their love story to evolve! They both were attracted towards each other and sure their was fire and passion! Klaus would have done anything for caroline! And it would have been an epic love story! But it was cut short! As they had their own spin off and caroline couldn't or was not taken into the originals! A new character was taken up for the love interest of klaus! For whom he cared very deeply! And bcz they had time they told their story very well in this series! Here Klaus is just talking about something which is very close to his heart to caroline which we have seen he always does with her...if the writers had used caroline in the originals cami wouldn't have been there! They just needed a love story! This is where the writers messed up! Confusing the fans as well.!

They were friends with strong bond no matter what. But for me the problem of Klaroline from maybe even season 4 TVD was lack of on or off-screen communication between them - we never got a ghist of what Caroline felt when she learned about Hayley and Hope and what was in her mind. And that was crucial for what happened later in the series between them. Then Klaus thought for years that Stefan "did the right thing by her", for which he didn't many times and finally widowed her for no good reason. So they meet after so many years and there is spark from the very first moment. And what happens for the rest of the season? They continously ask if the other party really has feeling, like they couldn't believe. Simply said - this relationship was heavily mistreated.

That one very option was pretty dim and I wonder how much writers smuggled in those few seconds, especially there is no original newspaper article. Everyone says they were married and on the run because there were two pictures. But Alaric said clearly that "Klaus Mikaelson started war" - not they started! In my view Triad killed Caroline, so Klaus had nothing to loose and went at full war, especially that part of the Triad was Aurora, his former love, who was behind Cami's death as well.

I would debate over Caroline not understanding art. She had no education in that field, nobody in her surroundings was into art and yet she intuitively understood Klaus' work - in the Winter Wonderland episode she could read thru Klaus' intentions while Stefan (his friend-brother) just shrugged it off moments earlier. It required a lot of sensivity from Caroline to see that, even at the ball she valued more Klaus' sketches than "the Louvre". Even when Caroline didn't understand art, she felt it. For me it was more of talking about each other over art than talking about art itself. Because, you know, art can be interpreted in any way someone wants. While Cami could read art - and that was the thing that initially bonded them and I can say nothing against that.

The fact that the first place Klaus Mikaelson took Caroline Salvatore before his suicide mission was the spot he met Cami and then talked lovingly about corpse Cami to Caroline (Cami didn't know of a Caroline) was a chef kiss. Cami really was the love of Klaus Mikaelson's life! Y'all's most awaited scene ended up being a Klaus and Cami scene, may be Julie deserves rights after all!
