The parallel of Elijah telling Klaus he had no choice after killing Marcel, that is what Klaus was saying to Marcel about Davina only minutes before. Like Marcel, Klaus doesn't believe that. Klaus can now understand why Marcel felt the way he did and why he couldn't accept all his apologies.
@theelite37923 жыл бұрын
The ironic thing about it is that Klaus was never the one behind Davina's death. Klaus told his family to help Davina, Klaus told them to find another way besides sacrificing her, Klaus begged Marcels forgiveness, Klaus screamed no and searched for his body saying that he was "one of us" after telling Marcel all day that the was family. Klaus wanted to help Davina and wanted forgiveness for the crimes of his siblings and wanted to reassure Marcel that he still saw him as family, and Marcels anger seemed mostly focused on Klaus

This might be my favorite episode of the whole series. Marcel encompassing all three parts of the prophecy was brilliant. The tension throughout between Klaus and Marcel was great. Everything Marcel was saying this episode was completely true. The Mikaelsons create a lot of their own villains by not giving a shit about people who aren’t in their family, and not caring about how their actions effect others. They use the excuse that they have to protect their family always, even if it means destroying everyone else in the process. I truly believed Klaus could’ve talked Marcel down had Elijah not shown up and ruined it though. I’ve really not been able to agree with Elijah’s decisions lately. I also really didn’t like how Hayley acted at the end of this episode. I hated that she was getting mad at Klaus for having the nerve to be mad that Elijah killed Marcel. He was like a son to Klaus. He had every right to be upset. I also would’ve expected her to have more of a reaction that Marcel was dead, considering she and him were pretty good friends. It just seemed so out of character for her. The Davina, Kol, and Vincent moments this episode were great as well. I hated seeing Davina die, but she went out like a badass. Seeing her take down the ancestors was great. Kol’s speech to her was beautiful as well. Marcel was honestly brilliant for testing Elijah and Klaus to see if they would actually kill him. Because of Elijah’s inability to think rationally, now they have super original Marcel to deal with, and it’s entirely their fault.

How Hayley is acting comes right back to her having rose-coloured glasses when it comes to Elijah. The nerve on this woman to tell Klaus that he has to forgive Elijah because Elijah is hurting too. Klaus literally just lost Cami, someone he loved and now Marcel who was like his son is dead because of Elijah. Klaus has been the only one acting mature and sane through all of this. I think she was completely wrong actually! She doesn't care that Klaus is hurting and is heartbroken at all. It was NOT fair of her to bring up everything he has done because at least Klaus has grown and gotten better. What Elijah did was wrong! What he did to Davina AND Marcel. Throwing that in Klaus's face was such a horrible thing to do. Elijah is the reason that the vision came true tho. Klaus was talking Marcel down and I a 100% believe that Klaus would have gotten through to Marcel. Marcel loved Klaus to remember. Oh and let's not forget his love for Rebekah. Elijah was the problem from the start! The way he always treated Marcel with no respect and demanded Marcel to do what he wanted. EVERYTHING Marcel said was true! Klaus was not the problem but he could have been the solution. I don't know what made the writers think it was a good idea to have Hayley sleep with Elijah right after he killed Marcel, who was her friend too. Let's not forget that the only reason she is alive is because of Marcel. He saved her when she was a baby. I feel like the writers wanted us to dislike Elijah and Hayley in this moment because Marcel was for sure a fan favourite in this show. This was beyond disrespectful to all 3 characters.
@jessicadangerfield1539 Жыл бұрын
The TVDU writers definitely have a tendency to create scenarios to turn the good guys into the bad, smart characters dumb, and the bad guys redeemable. They love to try making the loveable characters irredeemably flawed to make the truly irredeemably flawed characters seem flawless to make them beloved. In doing so, they create massive nonsensical character flips, inversions, and inconsistencies. It just feels totally ooc for both Hayley and Elijah (Elijah especially) to sleep together at this moment. Lean on each other, sure. Comfort each other, absolutely. But not sleep together, they’ve both been built up to have more integrity than that even at their worst.

I may not agree with him but I love the way the writers were able to flesh out the character of Elijah this season. He is still the same loyal brother but his loyalty can most definitely blind him. From his perspective I can see how killing Marcel would make sense but it's just so wrong considering everything he's done, especially this season. He's always been family first, and this season there are a few instances where that's his downfall but there are so many other moments throughout the show where it's his greatest trait.

While Elijah is my favorite character and I hate to see him fall like this I think it’s such a great writing choice to have him be the one to royally mess up. He became the paranoid one instead of Klaus and ended up ignoring the prophecy itself out of that paranoia. Like he could have just snapped his neck and they gone from there but he panicked and reacted. The whole thing is heartbreaking. Marcel and Klaus talk on the bridge is one of my favorite things because it’s just centuries of things they never said finally coming out to each other and it’s Klaus at his most vulnerable! The Klaus/Marcel relationship is so complex. Also Haley isn’t wrong for what she said. She’s not actually trying to compare anything but she’s just saying Klaus has killed Elijah’s loved ones before and cause him so much pain and yet Elijah he always forgiven him and she’s just asking for Klaus to try to have the same empathy. I think her statement is completely fair especially seeing how destroyed Elijah is when Klaus never felt guilty for his actions. Lastly KOLVINA😭 my babies had to say goodbye to each other once again😭 they can never know peace

we wouldn’t have gotten to this point if elijah didn’t interfere he should’ve just eavesdropped on their convo , yk marcel is sensitive rn so why even show up when klaus was calming him down . everything that’s happens after this point is justified in marcels defense

This is one of the episodes I was most conflicted about. Cause you get amazing scenes, like Klaus and Marcel on the bridge, Elijah and Hayley, Hayley telling Klaus he needs to forgive Elijah, and all of that. But could they be more predictable? Of course Elijah wouldn't let Marcel threaten his family, he loved him, but he wasnt blood. Of course Marcel would take the serum, he has been fighting for power since episode one, and any chance of being on top, no one could take that from him. Of course there would be this whole drama around it, of thinking he's dead, for him to open his eyes and #bloop to happen. Anyone who has seen the other seasons of TO and TVD, could have sat down and predicted this whole thing, AND what will happen on the next one. Just triggered me so much, cause it was so fucking unoriginal. Which is ironic as fuck lol
@Hybred3 жыл бұрын
I think you're wrong because most reactors and viewers did not think or know he took the serum beforehand, some had the thought in their head but most don't because most people aren't trying to create theories and analyze the show to predict outcomes. They wrote it to make it look like Marcel hasn't taken it yet by repeatedly showing the bottle, having Josh try to talk him out of it, like why carry it with him if he took it? That's enough to convince most viewers, so it was not highly predictable or unoriginal, I applaud you for deducing it but you obviously ingest shows differently than most. I have an IQ of 138 (higher than 99.56% of people) and I didn't even deduce that until after he died because I wasn't trying too. Also different writers for TO than TVD (minus season 5) so TVDs writing has nothing to do with TOs
@TheMermaidBru3 жыл бұрын
@@Hybred it's okay if you think I'm wrong 💜 I deduced the whole thing and predicted the end. Guess it isn't an IQ thing. Just logics.
@Hybred3 жыл бұрын
@@TheMermaidBru IQ is based on logic, and deducing it isn't about logic its about how you ingest/analyze the show. You are watching shows differently than most, and by differently I don't mean you're sitting different or watching it on a different screen than most I mean your thought process when watching them are different. As a psychologist most people become zombies when watching the show, its pure entertainment, or maybe they dwell on the moment but you're thinking ahead which is rare, and you're trying to think about possibilities of outcomes when most people are just eager to see what happens next. Do you understand what I mean now?
@TheMermaidBru3 жыл бұрын
@@Hybred yes. I do understand. And that's what I said, for me it was irritating. If others don't watch the way I watch, good for them and how exciting being surprised by stuff. But for me, it wasn't suprising or exciting. And also, yes, I know what IQ is, I had my IQ tested professionally when I was 18 and it's 131. I just don't go around throwing it at peoples faces to say I'm smarter and know what I'm talking about. I gave my opinion on the episode, as everyone usually does in the comments, and if you don't agree with how I see it and how I interpreted it, it's completely fine. Have a good day.
@Hybred3 жыл бұрын
@@TheMermaidBru well you're misinterpreting my comment to be negative and rude, but I never implied that your way of watching it was incorrect or inferior just that its not how most people watch it, therefore it isn't as obvious as you think. Also I did not mention my IQ to throw it in your face, that's another way you're interpreting a neutral comment as a negative I mentioned it to show even "smart" or "logical" people may not see it coming, to basically avoid the argument that people who didn't notice are just dumb people. I just want it to be clear its unrelated to intelligence and more about HOW you enjoy watching your content. I'm sorry if I left any room for my comments to be taken as a slight, or boasting, I can't convey tonality through text. I hope you have a good day too

This episode is amazing and one of the strongest points of the show for me. Season three will always be my favorite season. The twist of marcel being the beast in the prophecy is amazing. I think the scene on the bridge of marcel just speaking straight facts is one of my fav scenes in the whole show. I want to point out what an amazing job Charles does acting as marcel especially these past few eps. He's one of the strongest actors on the show for me and even though technically he's a villain to the Michaelson's now he's still one of my favorite characters. I hate how they handled his death at the end with hayley and elijah, Marcel was a son to Klaus even if Klaus didn't always treat him like it.

I see your point about leave it thinking Marcel is dead but I think it was a purposeful choice cause they didn’t want to leave the audience hanging because of how much they had already been through killing off two main characters back to back and then killing Marcel would have been too much and I genuinely think it tees up the finale perfectly because now as an audience you’re just anticipating omg wtf is Marcel going to do next week and that anticipation builds through the week. Plus this allows them to really give the full time allotted for that finale to breathe (especially since it’s jam packed) rather than waste the time of showing Marcel is alive, which I could see as like the cold open but I think they really just wanted as much time as possible for the finale. And every episode of these shows typically end with some kind of stinger/cliffhanger

Jer what is your opinion on this: I actually think that Hayley was wrong bc Elijah fulfilled a part of the damn prophecy and broke his family apart 😭 Elijah had a choice both times and he did the wrong things. Klaus did awful things but Elijah killed his grieving SON after he killed his DAUGHTER off…Elijah says that Klaus breaks up the family the most but as time passes Elijah takes on that role 😕 How could Klaus forgive his brother for taking his son? How can Hayley ask that of him just mere minutes after Marcel died? It’s like Elijah attacked Hope and Hayley wouldn’t see past that. But here she does because it’s not her child and she acts insensitive towards Klaus because she will always chose Elijah over him AND I know for sure that Cami wouldn’t forgive or just ignore the fact that Elijah killed both Davina and Marcel

It’s totally out of left field and character for the both of them. But then again, TVDU writers love to shoehorn in inappropriate relationship development when they’re planning to have the characters undergo a potentially destructive challenge or separation in an upcoming episode.

It's somewhere around this point where Elijah started annoying the fuck out of me. Just never liked him again after everything that went down the last two episodes. Klaus and Marcel were getting somewhere with that conversation. Marcel wouldn't have forgiven the Mikaelsons, but he definitely wouldn't have moved against them if not for Elijah's ass fucking shit up

When I saw Elijah killed Marcel, I paused my tv, and I cried for least an hour. I didn’t finish the episode until spoil myself and saw that he was still a main character in the last two seasons. Because, I was done. They had done killed off Davina. Now, your killing off Marcel?? I don’t know if you notice that parallel to season one. Elijah was gonna killed Marcel, and Marcel had the line, ‘that is if he still speaking to you, after he finds out you kill me’ I really like that call back with Elijah actually killing him, and Klaus being angry with him. I feel like if it would had happen in season one it would been a coin toss on if Klaus care or not. He was already emotionally scar by Marcel bringing his father to town, jealous of the relationship between Cami, and Marcel. By the end of the season, he had bite Marcel, and had planned on letting him died. I feel, like now in season three, we getting a real genuine reaction to his ‘son’ death because I personally think, he would had pretend not to care if it would had happen in season one.

I have to say for me the whole ruse with that Marcel already had taken the serum wouldn't have paid off as much if they would have waited for a week. (Besides the fact that like you already mentioned, they did kinda the same thing with Cami in this season.)

Elijah was always my favorite character. Always. I had never really judged him for anything he did but killing Marcel... your brothers adopted son and nephew you grew to love I mean come on... can't be forgiven for that one. Klaus HAS hurt Elijah but he has never killed someone as close to Elijah as Marcel was to Klaus. It's not the same.

I mean he killed Marcell thinking he was stopping him from taken the serum. You could see that whole scene how on edge he was. He thought he was doing it to protect his brother. Another thing I can see both sides on.
@filmandtvbuff3 жыл бұрын
@@JerBearReacts I can completely understand it 100%. I see both sides and sympathize with Elijah especially when he broke down to Haley. But for some reason idk this is the only thing I can't let slide. He's still my favorite but killing Marcel just doesn't sit right no matter the reason. Maybe cause it's something I never thought he would do. He allowed fear to control him which is something I've rarely seen from Elijah.

marcel was a truth-spitting machine in this episode and i loved him for that....he truly shined in this season...elijah's character really went down in these last episodes and it kept going down throughout the rest of the series.....hayley-elijah was pure cringe in this episode

I halfway stopped watching tvd's reaction because to my opinion sometimes Jer be biased and not see to reason. Like in tvd, his love for Harley and Elija just overlooked the fact that he did just killed Klaus son. And as right as Hayley was, that little speech to Klaus was uncalled for at that time. She could have allowed him to grieve instead of invalidating his feelings and motions. And somehow, Jer, not knowing Marcel was alive still sided with Elija and Hayley. Seemingly, so are the comments, maybe I am the weird one.

Here's what I don't understand. Why would Elijah kill Marcel when he HAD FRONT ROW SEATS to watch how Lucian turned? Even if Marcel took the serum it wouldn't matter as long as he didn't die. So either Lucian and Marcel actually could be killed by heart or head and just no one was strong enough to do it, or nothing Elijah did there would've mattered anyway.

When I watched this episode in the first time I cried like a bitch when realised that Elijah ripped out Marcel’s heart. Because of this moment and another one (will be later) I understood that Elijah will be always my least favorite original. #sorrynotsorry
