Giving the Original's their own show was by far the best thing they could have done for the characters, it gives them space to truly develop. The complex family dynamics are easily one of my favourite parts of the show. Personally love Klaus as a character, but completely get why people don't like him! New Orleans is the perfect setting for the shows tone. Love your reactions, you always have such great perspectives.

Klaus presents as a person with disorganised attachment, which I guess is pretty common in adults who were abused by a primary carer as a child. I’m sure it was unintentional on the writers’ side but it definitely comes through in his character’s actions.

One thing I loved about this show was that even though Klaus grows, Rebekah and Elijah’s own traumas also come to the forefront and all 3 siblings get to tackle them in some way and grow as people for the first time in centuries. I appreciate your unbiased views and really strong morals!

Oh you are not gonna have the issue of this just being extra to tvd. The Originals has a unique identity as its own show. It's darker and it explores more genres. For instance this first season as we saw is very much a political game of chess that Klaus and Marcel are playing with who controls the quarter and I personally love that. People's opinions are very much divided over it tho. Some people love it and some hate it for being so different than the vampire diaries.

Yea, about boxes and Rebecca's lovers. All siblings like to throw remarks or joke caustically that Klaus stabs them almost or not because it was petty quarrels and grievances. Like "You drank my favorite bottle of wine! To the coffin! You burned my painting! To the coffin! I'm tired of you! To the coffin!" It would be funny if that was the case, if viewers were shown it or told more about it. But no. He didn't stab Finn. Elijah agreed with him and helped stab Kol. Three times. Rebecca... three or four times? Elijah two. Always for important reasons. Maybe those he stabbed didn't think the reasons were important, but he did. Yes this is bad. But it wasn't dozens of times just because he was in a bad mood. I think if at the very beginning, when the daggers were created, and the witches would then make another one for Klaus, and it would fall into the hands of other Mikoelsons, he would also be stabbed. For important sibling reasons. Kol because he would not let him have fun, Elijah would like to teach him a lesson, and Rebecca to turned and run away with her next love. But there is no dagger for him, so bummer. And about Rebecca's lovers. She also often says that he kills her lovers and does not let her live. Kol and Klaus say that she had a lot of crushes. I don't remember what said about it Elijah. Where are they all? Why were they not shown, at least not listed in one of the quarrels? Of those shown, he killed only the son of the governor and the vampire hunter. Matt is alive, Marcel is alive, Stefan is alive. Okay, Marcel is a strange situation even for vampires, and I don't like this couple, so I'm on Klaus' side here, although he ended up accepting them. With Stefan... well, he couldn't possibly go on the run with the Ripper. And given that Stefan visited the MF in 1994, and then Mikael found Elena, Stefan was being followed.

LMAO. He doesn't upload on a reliable schedule. It could be a week or 3 months. I would think based on other shows. This 1st season will take at least a full year.
