When Schultz passed away legendary football coach Tom Landry also passed away. A cartoon marked the occasion by showing Landry and CB walking into the sunset, and Landry saying "Now Charlie, about that football."

Charlie Brown will be with us as long mankind is on the earth. I have a few 📀 DVD of episodes of Charlie Brown. Snoopy isn't your ordinary cartoon dog, he can cook, clean the house, do detective work, play sports, try to get after the notorious Red Baron on his flying dog house. He can drive a car, use a typewriter, read a book at the library.

SOLACEBOY, I'm afraid said material has been made, and Warner Bros. isn't the one to make it. It's from Nickelodeon, the previous holder of Peanuts film material. It was made over a year before this was posted. The series is called "Victorious", and it stars a female named Tori Vega, who shares Charlie Brown's bad luck, endless ambition, and circle of friends. Namely, the series has adapted Schroeder (Andre), Linus (Robbie), Lucy (Jade), Sally (Cat), Snoopy (Beck), and Violet (Trina).
@icecreamhero2375
@icecreamhero2375 5 жыл бұрын
Nah Linus is nothing like Robbie. Robbie is Jewish is very nerdy and socially inept and carries Rex everywhere. Linus is the smartest character, he is logical, he is childish sometimes, he is obsessed with his stupid blanket, and he is the philosophical one. Robbie is kind of an idiot. Everything else was spot on.

Schulz's last CB comic skit was mentioned. I saw it. It was a drawing of Snoopy at his typewriter typing a note thanking all Schulz's readers over the years. I wanted his last CB comic to be something more relevant to the storyline, but from Schulz's perspective, I guess it was the right thing to do. So I'd like to see his 2nd to last skit

I thought we were going to get the real origins of Charlie Brown. I guess I'll add it here. Charles Schultz was working on his new comic, Peanuts and was trying to get nation-wide distribution. At the same time he fell in love with a red-headed girl called Donna Mae Johnson who worked at the accounting department of Art Instruction Inc. where Schultz was an instructor. Schultz and her began dating and she even asked him to elope, but he said he didn't want to offend her mother who opposed their dating. He later would tell her he wished he had a ring to propose to her, but she replied that she wasn't interested in marriage. After three years of dating, he finally received syndication for the comic. Elated, he went to her house and told her the good news and proposed, yet he didn't demand an answer right away. Instead, he gave her a statue of a white cat and asked her to put it on her desk whenever she was ready. Unbeknownst to him, Donna was also dating Al Wold. Al Wold proposed to her a few weeks later after Schultz. A few weeks after that, she decided to marry Wold. This news was devastating for Schultz who cried and even came back to her house to see if she changed her mind. She said she almost did but still married Al. This had a profound effect on Schultz and his comic. Despite obtaining syndication and nation-wide popularity, Charlie Brown would forever be grief-stricken and unable to win the red-headed girl. When Schultz was failing in health in 1999, he was asked if Charlie Brown would ever be able to kick the football. He responded, "Oh, no. Definitely not. I couldn't have Charlie Brown kick that football; that would be a terrible disservice to him after nearly half a century." Yet in December of the same year, he held back tears as he said, "All of a sudden I thought, 'You know, that poor, poor kid, he never even got to kick the football. What a dirty trick-he never had a chance to kick the football.'" When Schultz announced his retirement, Donna Johnson Wold said, "I'd like to see Charlie Brown kick that football, and if he gets the little red-haired girl, that's fine with me." That is the real origin of Charlie Brown.

As far as new Peanuts material, we haven't seen much from Warner Bros. except for the "motion comics" and the TV special "Happiness Is A Warm Blanket". They have however released more content from the Peanuts film library on DVD than previous owner Paramount, plus introducing some content to Blu-ray and download/streaming services. As the franchise enters its 65th year in existence, 20th Century Fox will be releasing the first new theatrical Peanuts film since 1980's "Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (And Don't Come Back!)" plus Paramount will be releasing "Bon Voyage" and "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown" on DVD for the first time, and a new French produced TV series will be coming around for the international market.

Conspicuous by their absence are those involved with the animated specials. In paarticular Producer/Director Bill Melendez and Composer/Pianist Vince Guaraldi, whose cool jazz style unexpectedly fit Peanuts like a glove. He created all the music up until his death in 1976. Most music after that were rearrangements of Guaraldi's themes.
