It's weird how I can feel the Demeech in some of what IloveNintendo1999 says even though they're the same person. It's weird seeing a 14 year old actually guage what he would get out of a game meanwhile me at 14 barely understood....well damn near anything. I had just realized that buying 2 Pokemon games was buying the same game twice. While more wholesome, Demeech was always there, he just kinda evolved (again why am I surprised it's the same guy).

What even happened to Demeech honestly? He seemed so much nicer and happier back when he was ilovenintendo1999. Even so, you could clearly see some early signs of his later entitled personality seeping in here.

The ilovenintendo1999 reveal was kinda crazy because I’d always assumed/hoped that Demeech was younger than me thanks to his terminal levels of Twitter-brain, but he shares my birth year judging by that old username. Kinda highlights some of the more absurd parts of his content for me; like, if I was making KZbin videos, there definitely wouldn’t be any skits with the strawman parrot by this point in my life, lol.

yeah i didnt expect him to be as old as he was He's not so young that i'm giving him a pass for his chicanery in the modern day but not old enough to reach the promise land of just not caring as much anymore like im at but the perfect age to be mentally rotted by Twitter etc. A terrible fate to suffer but it makes for a funny stream

@ Yeah, you raise a good point that a person’s mid-20’s feels to me like a time where you cement where you stand on the different kinds of online media discourse out there. Me personally, I’m generally the type to follow it but not care much, but out of my online friends, there’s a decent mix of people who are like “Did you see this cringe take on Twitter? They need to stop being so wrong.” And people who are like “Who cares, people are always gonna be cringe on social media.” Now to be fair, if we want really any online discourse to improve, we do need at least some people who care enough to push back against people spreading toxicity, misinformation, thoughtless takes, etc, so I’m not trying to say that a response more like the first one I put in quotes is inherently bad, just that it can definitely lead to an unhealthy place very easily.

Oh, definitely. Even when I think back to my online friend groups, it had a mix of all the types but I found myself distancing from the ones that really made it more of their personality that they should've. Whatever approach you take, you just can't let it define you lest you end up like the many cautionary tales out there, Demeech included
