This isn’t about capitalism. This is about direct democracy. It used to be seen as an ideal form of government, but with the advent of social media we know that the public doesn’t bother to educate itself with the issues at hand. You saw how the girl downvoted someone because she didn’t like how they looked. There’s a reason we need a code of laws. Mob rule is never a good thing

More like 100% democracy where everyone has a say on what they approve or disapprove of and with technology it allows for one's opinion to be easily registered into said democratic system. edit: also cancel culture is a mish mash of different issues that people tend to throw into the same category. Both left and right in the USA have dabbled in this phenomenon. Imo the right wing first freaked out about "cancel culture" which isn't surprising because usually the right will jump from scary issue to scary issue while lumping together a bunch of bs onto said issue to bloat up the fear factor. Fox News and Tucker Carlson are amazing at the emotional faux outrage manipulation that they use when covering "controversial" culture "issues" - because the right doesn't care about policy (Mitch McConnel admitted this). Cracker Barrel added a non meat sausage and right wingers freaked out talking about going woke lol. Said product is old and their menu didn't cut anything. This was just a recent example from what... a week ago or so?
