This is just my own opinion; you know---everyone has one and the right to express it: I've listened to these guys for over 50 years, and there are very few songs in their entire discography that I don't care for. This one is really one of my favorites. Sonny's beautiful chording close the end is just a lovely combination of chords that I've always loved. It's almost romantic, for lack of a better word! He combined the best of the best banjo pickers of that time, and later became one of the best himself, in my opinion. He sang nicely with Bob, whose has an extraordinary range. I can't think of any bluegrass lead/tenor who comes close to his soaring notes! A really great pair of bluegrass brothers that I'm nearly always in the mood for... or The Country Gents, Flatt and Scruggs, The Seldom Scene, so many more... Um, I have to stop now, for I've got more listening to do, and here it is nearly 2 a.m.

I remember when my oldest brother, took his best friend at the time to the airport on his way to Vietnam. This is the only time i can remember him crying, unless there was a death in the family. He came home & went in the boys bedroom put the 45 record on the record player with the arm back so it would play over & over, as he laid there in the bed & cried @@Shervonify

In 1984 we drove about 2.5 hrs to Pacolet, SC to see them and the Lewis Family. Front row seats Sonny and Little Roy were picking on each other all evening and Little Roy got an Osborne Bros album off the table and gave it to me. Don't remember the upright bass players name, but they called him Moses as he had long hair. Wish I could see them again.

Many years ago, my cousin Jimmie Snyder asked me if I had heard this song and I said I sure have and he smiled and said they are good aren't they? RIP Jimmie, still listening to the Osborne in 2021.

Well here I am again still listening to The Osborne Brothers. June 2024. I'll never stop listening to them they were the greatest. I saw them perform in the fall of 1967 in Philippi WV during the Barbour Co. Fair. I hadn't even heard of them at that time. But, after that night I've listened to them a LOT. over the years. I miss both of them ,but at least, we still have a lot of albums to listen to. RIP guys.

Correct me if I err but isnt this Dale Sledd singing with the O Bros? O Bros had it right design your renditions with Sonny on low harmony, Bob on tenor lead.All you need then is a baritone singer. Worked with a lot of 3rd singers including Ronnie Reno
@Ken-uo7iw7 ай бұрын
This was before Ronnie joined. Sonny is singing baritone.
