How the West Was Won had a killer cast!

I still recall how impressed I was watching it in its original format - joins and all - on that massive curved screen in London's Cinerama (Soho) cinema back in the 1960s. Kevin Costner credits the film with his own love of and later success in Westerns. The music score by Alfred Newman deserved an Oscar of its own!

You ignored The Culpepper Cattle Company, The Cowboys, Hank Penney, Monte Walsh (either one was great), All of which were top rate.

Charlton Heston cited his Penney western (directed by Tom Gries) as a favourite film role. Was it actually called "Will Penny"?

@songsmith31a Yes, that's the title. A moving film.
