As a former truck driver living in Connecticut and drove pretty much all over this state the old textile mills in the eastern part of Connecticut are priceless and glad they are restoring some of them instead of tearing them down. Great job in your driving abilities and dealing with them ina professional way.

Oh, I have had days like this. I was in canton Ohio. Drove down a nice country road. Then turn onto a small dirt road, that turned into grass. This is where I started to freak out. Mind you 53’ trailer and 45’ truck.Then some guy drives up in a tractor and tells me “ about 1 mile ahead you see a building on the left side deliver there.”

The kickers are disposable, but if your at home depot and ask they will let you take them home free, my store here has a a big stake of them and if you ask the lumber yard guys they will tell you take all you want, i built a wood rack with them to hold 1200 bf of hardwood. In my basement using them at wall brackets and buying 70% off dammaged studs some as long as 20' what do they care saves room in the dumpster it cost money to have it hauled away, i did it for free.

@SaffordDelivery2 жыл бұрын
What were your mills used for?
@briwire1382 жыл бұрын
@@SaffordDelivery They were situated in the hilly areas of northern England where the damp climate reduced the breakages in the material. In Lancashire they were used for cotton spinning. Over the Pennines in Yorkshire was wool. Towns were full of mills with factory chimneys belching out smoke. Mostly gone now, many used for apartments of small businesses.

I am not a truck driver, your driving was impressive. Firm believer in communication. In todays electronic communication, you should have received an electronic map showing where material is, and where the material was going. The office pukes at your company were too lazy to provide you with the information. Like you said if you hadn't ran into the correct customers, that provided you with the correct information, a cluster would have ensued.

I'm not surprised AT ALL. Home Depot doesn't hire people for qualifications, the hire to fill a spot. They don't train people, they don't do anything that improves operations. They live on the easy profits and too lazy to go after better service. This is what keeps the smaller local building supply business making all the money with contractors, and Home Depot spending millions on the staff dedicated to processing returns.

He said that driver's wanted to stay close to home and go play golf. Different company hired some driver's from eastern Europe and they do what ever you asked and they always turned up for work with no complaints the reason is that in eastern Europe wages are £60 a month and on United kingdom wages they can come work and within a year buy nice home in eastern Europe it's same in United states with driver's from south America states they will turn up for work do jobs without complaining about job .they're happy to get good money for their families
