Clear case of difference in ways of living... 1. Girl's dad as usual wanted a Sarkari damad (old ways), while girl is a new generation fashion designer (unable to cope with doing regular home chores.) 2. Dad is blind in love for his daughter, but he never wanted a simple divorce for her, bcoz ghar ki izzat (typical 80s bollywood dad behaviour) has always been the priority for him. He made all this, a matter of ego. 3. He decided to create this whole scene of baraat, thinking... If divorce escalates and everything goes out of hands (which happened swiftly here), he'll try to defame the boy's family, only to satisfy his and her daughter's ego. He never wanted his daughter to leave her husband's house, and that is why she kept staying there even after the court's decision. Conclusion: 1. for girls' family don't get your daughters married against her wish. Let her live the way she wants, otherwise she'll destroy life of her in-laws. So, only girls' parents should tolerate her, why someone else? 2. For boys and boys' family, just don't fall into this whole trap of marriage, there's nothing for you here. 3. A simple divorce is not a bad thing and now Indian society should start accepting it. 4. In 2023, no person is a complete Ram, nor a complete Ravan, we're all Black and White or call it grey shades. Fact: Modern living doesn't support good old ways of livelihood.

A major reason why many people in the Indian society are afraid to empower their girls with a lot of freedom and independence is that once women become empowered they believe thanks to toxic feminist discourse that they should ALWAYS have the upper hand in any situation and any hint of compromise for the sake of harmony is weakness. They refuse to pick their battles wisely and end up making lives of others around them miserable. They confuse equality with identicalness and hence refuse to acknowledge certain realities. They expect to be pampered at all times and cannot tire of flashing the victim card whenever they're asked to fulfill their share of responsibility. Feminists filling heads of young women are like the religious zealots who get offended at the slightest reason and this toxicity is influencing a large number of young women who are constantly being told to "take what is theirs", "don't be apologetic under any circumstances" etc. So they confuse entitlement as empowerment. Women today are sadly mirroring the very behaviour they've always found offensive in men. The media discourse too favours only female victimhood. It is indeed disheartening to know that a marriage went sour so quickly.

It's the same case as everything these days. Blindly following the world trends. The media pushes these according to the trends every year. They pushed depression, feminism, wokeness, me too so much that everything lost its meaning and instead of improving. Everything went back to the same thing. Media builds a narrative. So, in the long run, everything loses its meaning. And the real women suffering won't be heard anymore due to useless women who just want to up their power with any means they have.

I come from a family of city dwellers, all relatives are in city, we basically don’t have Any village. They are spread across Australia to USA to Europe. And in various Indian cities. I can say that, for the truly global, modern people, feminism is about independence and freedom. Yes we all female cousins have been given all freedom. We have our own finances, our own choice of lifestyle. One is author, other in big 4 consulting jobs. And many more. We work and we mingle with men of the same lifestyle. And the ones who are married have the healthiest relationship. If that woman was really free, they wouldn’t have forced that marriage on her. This seems like MARRAIGE where man was studious nice guy but didn’t know his ways to woman’s heart. She was already upset as she was kept away from her career. So this will fail. Not just India, but in any country. If you think she is the example fo empowered woman, you are wrong. Again I am not sharing my family details to show something, I don’t like many people in it. But in case of stable marriages, they have won. Married by choice, without barriers and no, they don’t have such drama in life. I am the misfit rather, 😂 I can relate to mr. kumar
