Exactly, latest ottoman empires were المشركون ( polytheists) generally speaking. They brought so many kufr and bidah into the subcontinent contries. For example where I am from , Afghanistan, people are influenced by them . Afghan still practices these kufr / shirk acts like throwing water before traveling believing that it will protect you from harm or bring you benefit, wearing the blue charm which shirk , grave worshipping, believing that bread is holy and that we should kiss it etc.... all of these were the shirki teaching of the ottoman empires.

Unlikely to be taught by the Ottomans themselves. I don't think the rulers forced people to do this. Much of the misguidance among Sunnis of the subcontinent such as grave worship comes from the Shias. The society deteriorates its own and then Allah restores the religion with mujaddid (reviver of religion).
