Ottoman Campaign in Empire was so fun, you have the most undisciplined and shittiest army in the world (saved by organ guns), shit economy and vast lands with no protection + 100% Austria war which is one of the best factions with more men ( their most basic units reks on Ottomans inf at that point). To prevent Austrian invasion I did something I thought would never do: Give regions between Austria and me to France to protect me from Austrians and took him as an ally, and bribed east nonstop to stop them from declaring me, and still losing lands left and right to Russia and other countries. While losing a bit of my land wealth and trying to keep enemies at bay, I develop the army and economy and start a counter attack that would make me a conqueror and gave me a satisfaction much more than other campaigns. Being able to recruit a disciplined infantry at last after 100 turns makes you feel like a successful leader with revolutionary ideas then you realize the other factions had them from turn 1.

When you took Vienna there were No More winged hussars to arrive😂. Great video. It was beautiful how the ottoman army with one of the worst Units in the game but with broken artilery Just destroyed everything. Ps. Could you do Poland next time? Tip for securing the eastern border early phase of the game. Give Armenia to Iran and make an alliance with it. So that you won’t need to deal with Georgia and Dagestan and waste allll your resources just to beat Georgia only to be harassed by Dagestan next.

While I was playing the biggest problem in the beginning was the economy. I had been trying to increase the ottoman economy for general reforms however on the other side Russia and Austria were blocking me on the map. Plus Janissaries went to rebellion although all the general reforms.

You won multiple times due to your fire power in the game. Of course i am not expecting a lot of historical accuracy. I am a fan of modded total war games. Isarely units in the game is fictioanal, bulshit unrelated non-exsistent unheard name, better to create sekban units or call them sekbans, lessers of janissaries, mostly mercenaries. At that time late 17th and early 18th Ottoman Army was clearly inferior in terms of fire power and totaly lack of modern muskets. (otto cannons were bullshit - austrians casted a monument instead of redeploying hundreds of otto cannons captured during the 2nd battle of vienna) Good cohesion, good morale, mediocre discipline (totally unbalanced army with poor units mixed with highly motivated ones), too much mercenary sekbans (semi regulars) Melee cavalry was actually the best units of Ottoman army at that time. Janissaries were mixed (poor units with psyco ones/ cemaat janissaries were the shittiest ones for example) Every single soldier had a fire arm!! musket or carbine or hand gun, just the opposite to the myth that ottos were mostly using old treditional melee weapons. (Anatolia was just like an huge arsenal at that time - the only shit is the weapons were not western so they were not calibrated and they were much heavier than western counterparts.) around 1721 ottoman army defeated a new modern russian army at pruth, after several defeats against the h.r.e. ottos were defeated hre in 2 battles and took all the lost lands back also. this was the proof that ottoman army was still considered as powerfull european dynasty. Hence the downfall was steady and unstoppable.

They were a common artillery from the Late Middle Ages through the 1600s across Europe and the Mediterranean. By 1700 the Ottomans likely did still have them, they just didnt look or act like ingame (irl they got their name because they were a bunch of arquebuses strapped together in a like, like organ pipes)
