It would kinda make sense for Murkoff to use sleeper agents in order to commit terrible acts and then blame it on the enemy, they secure for funding for their experiments, its a win for them

Notice at 19:00 that the ReAgents hands are taped to the steering wheel. So even if he noticed and reacted quickly he would have no hope on removing the bomb or even exiting the vehicle. That is also the reason why he/she is twitching their hands in that nervous manner without removing them from the steering wheel. So either the second ReAgent was not as well altered as the first one or there is a limit on what a reagent can be forced to do. EDIT: Also their heavy breath is clearly done only through their nose. That does not sound it would sound like if you breath heavily through your mouth. So we can assume their mouth is also taped shut. Could this be a failed but survived ReAgent who could be put into good use and get rid of at the same time?

The only reasonable explanation to the car bombing at a SV/US meeting is to further push the idea that the Vietcong are a threat as the bombing would be blamed on North Vietnam

I think it is pretty safe to say that the bombing of that hotel in South Vietnam could easily be Murkoff and the US government provoking a war. Bombing a 'friendship meeting' or whatever it is called on the sign is a great false flag operation. Meet with your allies, bomb goes off (set off by sleeper agent you created but have no traceable ties to), blame the bombing on your enemy who just happens to be North Vietnam, go to war. Remember that the entire Vietnam War in reality was based on the Gulf of Tonken Incident, which was a real false flag operation used to justify American troops being deployed. Makes sense to me that the government and Murkoff would be behind a series of attacks that would be used to start a war.

They already confirmed that they will release Outlast 3 eventually. We don't exactly know when but I will come. About the Trials, I think they will add more and more trials over the next years. Just makes sense considering that they were developing this game for the past 3 years or so

Its a nice break from typical Outlast experience. I really like mastering games so its perfect for me with all these trials. We're gonna get Outlast 3 but some time later, let them cook a banger for us cause the story is awesome so far.

This video is incredible. I love laying on my side in bed just binging your lore videos. I'm usually too much of a coward to play scary games but I find the lore and concepts so, so fascinating, so having someone (with a very good voice) go through it for me is ideal. Thank you! Also, would you consider covering The Vanishing of Ethan Carter? I just finished that game but in true scaredycat fashion there was a maze segment I didn't finish. Still, it's a short and sweet game with some interesting concepts I really liked, and I'd love to hear your take on everything I'm sure I missed

Well the main Antagonist is one of the most corrupt fictitious companies in the world, and this is looking deeper into its interpersonal lore along with Ex human experiment ops. I dont think we're gonna see the concepts "Clean" or "Honest" and "Murkoff" in the same room together lmao

I love the real-life parallels you pulled for the ending, I do think it's a very simple false flag attack. i.e. blow up your own conference, say the bad guys did it, and now you have cause for escalation of conflict.

Something I think could possibly be interesting: Could Perry's letter about the typos and sloppy dates also mean that some of the documents that we read are out of order? The Perry letter could seem like a small, almost unimportant document but could be a warning that the lore is ordered differently. Also, the ending with the car bombing could be in relation to the irl 1964 Brinks Hotel Bombing that happened in Saigon and resulted in American casualties. This mixed with the Gulf of Tonkin incident really contributed to amping up US military and political involvement in South Vietnam. The car bombing in Outlast seems like it was still set up by the CIA. The CIA and the US Government would blame the car bombing on Viet Cong operatives (if it follows the real life events). If the US government wanted to go into South Vietnam more, the CIA and Murkoff used the reagent in this case to show North Vietnamese aggression and could be used a political reason for the public to agree to the war.

I'm thinking that (in game at least) the Vietnamese government and people may have been a bit reluctant to solidify an alliance with the US (for very valid reasons, obviously) or they couldn't agree on terms (that would end up benefiting the US far more than Vietnam). Knowing this and wanting to force things along, US officials secretly send a Reagent strapped with a bomb to a well publicized event with both Vietnamese and US officials. The blame for the attack is pinned on the Vietcong and other dissenters, effectively scaring the Vietnam government into signing an allyship agreement with (very) unfavorable terms. TL;DR: US officials use a Reagent to secretly bomb their own, and Vietnamese government officials to scare Vietnam into signing an unfavorable allyship agreement. Democracy wins!

we'll see, so far it was the biggest update since launch and they added some weekly trial. I assume its gonna be like one big update (main programs) per 6-12 months and some smaller events between updates

It was going to be but one thing is definitely falling into place exactly as I thought it was going to be. It launches, it's cool, then it dies for basically a year. Then it comes back for a little bit. Then it's gonna die again for like a year until they just stop making updates. And that's gonna be that just. Why does it have to be multiplayer? Just make a single player game. The superior form of gaming actually finished games. Please, I hate live service nonsense.

See, the docs speculate that it’s the pushers who leak the documents…but that would be too easy. It would be very interesting and in line for Murkoff to be betrayed by an employee. One who works closely with the Reagents perhaps. Hates his job. Is there against his will himself. And - because it would be poetic with even his and Waylons overalls sharing an olive and beige colour scheme - is not a Doctor, but an engineer of sorts. A person that would on the other hand be easily disposable for Murkoff because he is seen to be a second class citizen in America. Murkoff isn’t above making use of racial profiling, think back to what happened to Omar when Chris was submitted to Mount Massive. Someone who just so happens to be the counterpart to a wildly hateful antagonist who hates his "kind". Ya I am deathly afraid for Cornelius, especially with Leland, a professional xenophobe, existing close by

It is hilarious how the devs try to stitch their game to world history. It is like making a skull-faced jack-in-the-box to scare kids and then taping the "Poor Yorick" dialogue from Hamlet to give the jack-in-the-box more meaning. It is pretentious as hell and very inorganic.

@@GamingHarryYT I know the history happened, but the manner by which they go out of their way to justify "deeper lore" with history just seems like a lot of overcompensation for what is essentially an episodic horror game. It does not mesh well at all. It feels forced and contrived, kinda like Doom with its Hell on Mars, but without the cheeky irony. It is too earnest. RE4, for instance, KNOWS it has a cheesy premise and embraces it (even in the remake witha Reagan-voiced Saddler). This game is just silly. That all said, I love your work and respect it.
