I'm kinda disappointed in the finale , I'm not sure how exactly it could have been better but I can't help but feel unsatisfied with it . And the main detective was really pissing me off in the cave when holly is asking El Cuco questions and when Cuco is talking the Detective keeps telling it to shut up. Like why wouldn't u want to know it's history and other things about it and why it does what it does . But no genius detective doesn't want to know anything or hear anything coming from that things mouth . Iunno I just found that annoying and I guess I wanted them 3 to talk more

I thought the episode dragged after the scenes with El Cuco. However, I found the mid-credit scene to be completely unexpected. I also missed that Holly had a scratch, but as far as I recall, El Cuco never touched her, so I think the scratch must of just happened in getting out of the cave. Thanks for your excellent episode reviews. I will miss them.

How did Holly not know who Terry was? In the cave she said "Who's Terry"...then she googled the case at the end credit scene. Yet she investigated him and his trip to visit his father in the Nursing home. 🤔🤔🤔
@yohanespaskal93524 жыл бұрын
She asked “Who’s Terry?” because Ralph said something about clearing Terry’s name since he was innocent and people would stop taking about him. What’s the best answer to show that Terry’s name is clear? “Who’s Terry?” It was Holly being brilliant. I found it on Twitter. That's make sense for me

We’ll probably need the writers to make a statement. The guy making this video thinks she never knew about Terry, which is clearly wrong. The Twitter thing mentioned is interesting. Another KZbinr said that it was supposed to show how far removed Terry was at this point since so much had happened since the investigation began. I think it was kind of a poorly placed line since I believe that no explanation will make it “good.”

The post credits scene made me think that the show wanna teased possible sequel season as in some kind of anthology TV series with Holly as the string to connect it all. There was already rumors of the show getting season 2 after episode 8-9. Well, in the post credits scene, I think Holly finally found her new purpose, specifically to battle this supernatural forms of evil. Pretty much just like another day for the "Winchester" bros LOL Also, about Holly' remark on "who's Terry?." Wasn't that supposed to be her "quirk"? Like having a memory lost in recent memories, but able to "conjure" the ultimate encyclopedia in almost every subjects. That's why she was researching for Frankie Peterson murder case in the post credits scene. I mean some people even suggest that Holly is being invaded/taking over by El Cuco in post credit scene (which I am not agree with).

The book itself is called the outsider and in the book Holly doesn’t actually say that line about an outsider knowing an outsider, so I doubt very much Stephen King had that in mind about the title being about Holly.

I thought it was a nice wrap up at the end. Turning the detective into a believer and the outsider death as a mortal. First of all, I truly hate Andy died, that sucked a tremendous deal. He, Hollie and Ralph were my favorites. I even liked the lawyer. I don't think she is infected, however I believe that Jack had a connection with her, because he simply would've shot her. It would be nice to see a branch off, but only if it's this cast. i have soo many questions at that ending that made me more confused: 1. Who were the kids Ralph saw in the cave? 2. Why didn't they just keep shooting at Jack to give the rest some cover while they were moving around? 3. Why did Holly ask whose Terry? The whole reason she was pulled into the investigation was because of him in the first place.... 4. Who will they prosecute as the suspect in Frankie Peterson's murder coz the video they provided the cops is the El Cuco that resembled Claude...how are they not gonnna let Claude be charged then? 5. The post credit scene imply Holly has a scratch, but I can't see any point in time where el cuco had the chance to scratch her so how did she get it? And if his being is killed by Ralph, how is he gonna morph into anything now? Seriously anyone can provide any insight is appreciated :)

When “The Entity” or cloned Claude told Holly and Ralph that Claude thinks about Holly it threw me. What did me mean by that? Also, why did Doug say it served his interests to cover up the existence of El Cuco? Surely the arc of the series was moving towards exposing El Cuco, not hiding him. As you’ve said, the monster RELIES on its existence remaining hidden so aren’t they doing his bidding by covering it all up?

I like how they added in Claude at the end and made him pull the trigger. The face-off was intense. I was half expecting Holly to whip out the sock full of bearings and one hit-KO The Outsider, which was cool and all. This ending was a little more exciting to me than the one in the book actually lol.

The only thing I didn’t understand about the show was that Claude seemed to be the only person suffering when El Cuco was transforming into him. Claude said it felt like someone was inside his head…but we never saw that from Terry or the others that El Cuco framed

Good video. I will say though that I thought Holly would have been keenly aware of having the monster touch her at any point - since she was the one that figured out how it infected other people. Due to that, if she was scratched on her arm, she would have instantly freaked out. Also, she never touched the monster, except when she stabbed it. I think you're right that El Cuco either survived and is messing with her or another is. But I don't think she herself is being copied. It would be a betrayal of who she's been up to this point. Furthermore, I'm unclear as to why El Cuco wanted Jack to come back into the cave. Why show him the vision of his son, knowing it would cause him to come back inside. Stephen King does have both evil and good forces in his books. I think without putting too fine a point on it, the son was a good force. Otherwise, it was El Cuco risking being scientifically studied or hopefully finished off and that was a hell of a risk for such a vulnerable creature to take.

I just finished this show and I have a theory. The lightbulb went off around episode 7. I think the show represents what is like to be inside the mind of someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder. I need to watch it again and unpack, easter eggs. Ralf’s wife in the show is in Reality his Psychiatrist. If you listen closely we hear her voice coming though in the cave as the ‘outside voice’ . As the dialogue gets more fragmented and disjointed in the second half, memories start to emerge suggesting what has happene in reality that has cause the fragmented reality. I assume that if there was a second season we will see what each character in the show is in reality. There are so many clues in the dialogue. As Ralph slowly deals with that trauma, the characters or alters ( which all represent him) are killed off or fade in the background making him a different more complete person. I do not want to speculate too much but if you know the Billy Mulligan case, rewatch this. At the end, Ralph is sitting at the grave ( i think it represents his brother’s grave) with his in show wife ( therapist) who says that they can visit agin ( in years time) to see Derek ( this might be the childhood trauma?). I am not sure how well I verbalised this but i was just thinking if the movie Split reprents the outside , the Outsider shows the inside. The Outsider can be the therapist or even us as viewers

I have not read the book, but I really enjoyed the series. Here is my guess at what I do not really know. Cuco is a very old creature, certainly centuries, maybe millennia old; possibly much older. It says it does not know its ancient past, which maybe a clue in itself. It has a body, and most miraculously, has the ability to radically transform that body. Once it has tasted another organism, with a bite, or even a scratch, Cuco can transform its own body into a replica of what it has sampled. This transformation often takes weeks, and requires a lot of food to power the chemistry (and beef up its structure, if making a larger body). This ability to regenerate itself at the sub-cellular level gives Cuco potential immortality. And there is more. Cuco can deposit a bit of itself in a bite or scratch. That bit grows and festers and forms a link with Cuco's mind; allowing Cuco to know all its victim knows, and perceive what it perceives. The link also allows Cuco to project visions into the mind of its victim. These experiences are often horrific, and are intended to coerce the victim to serve Cuco's will. As the series progressed, we learned that Cuco today is pretty damn smart. It is about as smart as its prey, and he didn't seem too worried. We saw a lot carcasses in Cuco's Cave; hollowed-out possums and armadillos. And we know the thing that did the hollowing can replicate bodies. It wouldn't even need to eat, to downsize like that. And another thing. I've got an elm in my front yard, when it is happy and healthy, it shades its roots and there is just this one tree. But cut it down, remove the shade, and out from the roots, 10, 20 feet from the trunk, up sprout dozens of little elms. You got to wonder, if that little bit could form a link, maybe it could form a mind, if the link was severed. Maybe Cuco is back to playing possum, maybe it getting a fresh start, no sense letting it keep you up at night.

Nah, not worse than the red wedding. In the Red wedding, we didn't expect a massacre to happen and eliminate major characters in a span of 3 minutes. This episode we knew they were going to be killed. I honestly expected only Ralph and Holly to survive.

In the goodbye scene between Ralph and Holly, Ralph asks her how she is getting home and if she is going directly to Chicago, 10 hours...blah blah and she says "I have a couple of stops to make along the way." That's time unnacounted for. She totally could have gotten scratched by somene after she said goobye to Ralph.
@nocturnalstudios26714 жыл бұрын
How about the potential scenario that there is another El Cuco that already cloned into Holly. The post credit Holly is the real Holly who was home and was never even in Cecil. The El Cuco Holly poses as her to take down the other one. She says “an outsider knows an Outsider” and seems to know Jack wouldn’t shoot her. Also the scratch means another El Cuco could have scratched her days before. The Cuco asked how was it so easy for you to believe in me. Just strange the real Holly would say “Who’s Terry?” The El Cuco Holly wouldn’t know if it came along later in the storyline. Just a thought

Holly was investigating terry so how could she forget him? I think the scratch on her arm and her saying that, Also her listening to music (which she said she hated) and also her seeing jack is just a bunch of signs saying el cuco is taking over her

Ok.. a few things. When Cuco was cycling thru who he's "been" before Ralph bashed his head it.. it looked like the last face was about to be Ralph's. This might tie in with the fact that Cuco senses others of his kind AND why Ralph saw the two young boys while exiting the cave. (One having been the young man he shot outside of the courthouse defending Terry) Maybe he sees them both bc he killed both.. but bc he is married to the mother of his son.. he gets enough "grief" thru her continuous pain. OR.. I am just reading too much into this... and SUPER late to the show. LOL
