So many people miss the part of the flashback where Lilith says "I thought it was would just be for a day" from talking over it, and I hate that because that's a big part of Lilith's redemption is that she didn't mean to make Eda's life what it is now.

I absolutely love the way Emporer Belos carries himself. The way he speaks, the way he acts, his calm yet threatening aura. This episode alone makes him a great villain and I think the fact that we only saw him and what he can do in these last 2 episodes helps us see his effect on the boiling isles

I'll say this: season 2 is packed, literally jam packed with details hidden all over the place. If you get the urge to pause and take a closer look at something, follow that impulse. You won't be overthinking it.

OHHH I KNOW WHY HER GLYPHS DIDN'T WORK IN THE HUMAN REALM!!! It's because her glyphs work by pulling magic from the surrounding air, but the human realm doesn't have any magic (no titan, no magic) witches can still use magic though because they have a supply of magic in their bile sac

The thing about how glyphs work was explained in episode 12. Magic is everywhere in the isles and the glyphs draw upon it and channel it. Since there’s no naturally occurring magic in the human realm, they don’t work. Lilith, however, could still use her magic because it’s a biological part of her.

rewatching season 1 with you was treat and I can't wait for season 2. although something I find weird is when you mentionne that you think Luz was "attracted" to the portal and that she isn't in the demon realm by accident, you're not the only one who I've heard say that, which bugs me. Luz went into the portal (that she didn't know wasn't just a normal door) to get her book back and tried to leave immediately after. And episode 2 make it very clear that she isn't the "chosen one" or whatever. so I'm not sure where "Luz isn't there by accident" come from, and I'm curious

I can't wait until I can share additional meta about this episode based on things that are discovered later. One of the things I love the most about this show is that there's so many scenes that become so much richer with the context of later episodes. Probably my favorite part of THIS episode, though, is- I ADORE the musical cue that happens as Luz is riding up the platform elevator to Eda, right as she damages the portal door- it's so majestic, and really pushes how BIG a thing Luz sacrificed with that move, just to save someone she loves.

My problem with Lilith’s redemption isn’t that she cursed Eda. She was a kid, and like she said she thought it’d only be for a day. Still bad but okay, I can forgive that. My problem lies with adult Lilith making fun of Eda’s curse and lifestyle even though it’s her fault. Plus, she tried to murder a child to get Eda to succumb to said curse. So…. Don’t get me wrong, I love Lilith, but I remember feeling a little off about her redemption when this episode aired. But, the point of a redemption isn’t the one good thing you do when you start making amends, it’s everything that comes after. So, eh. We’ll see.

i think it was to keep up appearances. sisters tease each other, lillith is clearly ashamed by her actions and wanted to fix it without eda finding out the truth, and if she just wasn’t teasing her about this specific and major part of her life it would be more suspicious. plus, while she was doing that, she WAS actively trying to do good and help her

I know the part where Eda just lets Lilith have the spot in the Emperors coven is so heartbreaking. It shows what a great sister she is, how they were best friends and that was both something they wanted. And she just gave it up for Lilith. There so much to talk about there. Love hearing your theories I remember watching it the first time I had similar ones to. I can't wait to see you find out if you're right or not. It's true I feel like the last two episodes of season one are so packed with info. And after you see more episodes in season 2 you can go back to these you might spot some interesting stuff. Thats what happened to me when I rewatched. What we learn in these last two episodes is just soooo good. I also had so much anxiety with Eda turning to stone. It's also such a great fight between Luz and Belos. Belos is a fantastic villain! The way he handles things in the last two episodes. It was so cool to finally meet him. Lilith sharing Edas curse in the end is such a huge sacrifice that to me I was already redeeming her from that. It doesn't undo everything she did. But to be fair she didn't think it was going to last as long as it did, (the curse she placed on Eda I mean.) It is a amazing season finale!!! Also whenever we get to see the lore of the world is always the best. So I loved when King read about the history in the opening, and talking about the Titan. When I first saw it I had so many questions as you I thought it was so interesting! Again I will not same more into that because you have to watch to see what is answered and what isn't. I am just saying my original thoughts from back when I first saw it lol

The secret messages for this season are: ,,A witch loses a true way "-which is obviously refering to Luz losing her ,,true way" home in the finale. Second message reads:,,Two witches torn apart,now alone two hearts of stone,curse of feathers and mud,a betrayl of blood. This code on the other hand is talking about realtionship between the Clawthorn sisters

SEASON 1 FINALE HERE! WE! COME! Acronym: A WITCH LOSES A TRUE WA *Y* Luz was on the warpath this episode, she literally took on a whole bunch of Scouts with three glyphs. Three! (Ice, Plant, Fire, dunno about Light) Also the fact that she also picked up a knife at Eda's armory.... Imagine if she just ran out of glyphs and pulled that out mid-fight. Would have been epic. Reason why Lilth was able to do magic but not Luz? Glyphs pull magic from the surrounding air, witches have natural magic in them (bile sacs) I've never seen a fandom change their opinions on a single character as fast a this one did on Lilth lol. About the major fight this episode: May the better magic wielder win (Thank God it was Luz, in a way, using her smarts) Take that long last look at the human realm, because who knows when you'll see it again. (I know when! _Cries_ )

And now you know just how big a scale this story is aiming for and how deep the lore we're going to explore is, all while the story remains a character-driven and deeply engaging drama. Slight anticipation spoiler warning: If you think this highly of Season 1, oh man S2 is gonna be something! Let's just say, that I have never been so impressed by one season of an animated show - not even Gravity Falls Season 2 (though I still think GF is the superior show overall - slightly)

[Spoiler-free] The reason why the last few episodes have been so good is that it was around this time that the show got canceled. Dana and the crew thought they had another two full seasons to develop the story and the characters, but season three got stripped down to just three 43 minutes specials. So, naturally, they had to cram up as much as they possibly could into a single episode. And this is mainly the reason why season two is going to be exceptionally good for you to watch. Honestly, episodes 18 and 19 of season one are a lot lower in quality compared to almost every episode of season two (just for comparison. It doesn't mean I don't like them in general). There's only one filler episode in the whole season. Yup. Remember how season one had a decent amount of fillers? Well, season two has just one. Not exaggerating. And it's still good. So sit back and enjoy this absolute masterpiece of a show, because with season two, you're in for a great time. Been loving your reactions so far, and can't wait for your reaction to season two. EDIT: Well, I've seen from other comments that you've at least watched five episodes already! Hope you've been enjoying them! Episodes 7 and 8 are definitely my favorites (in season 2A. Sadly 2B didn't come out yet in my country, but I've heard it's even better than 2A???? Man, what is this show??). Can't wait to watch your reactions!

Yeah, Belos' staff seems mechanical. Which lead to Theories of him not being a real Witch. Of course, if they are true or not are for you to find out. Since I won't spoil anything regarding Belos' story. Also the masked character teased at the end of this episode before we see the portal being rebuilt is someone who is a fan favorite character. Also in The Owl House Abrigded series by Tomosauce, he's even better. But don't look it up due to spoilers for season 2.

I thought from the beginning that it was a lie that Belos could talk to a titan and that he was doing his will. Why? Because it's literally like in our world. People lived in relative peace until some guy came and said he was talking to a god and anyone who wouldn't listen to him would die.

i blame the coven system entirely for what happened between lillith and eda (and the idiot who decided to sell a permanent curse to a child???). the fact that belos’ laws puts so much pressure on young witches to join a coven that lillith felt the need to cheat to secure her place in it, is so sad. plus, we know that eda is and was a cheater, so lillith probably thought she would cheat again to come on top. she never intended for the curse to be permanent, so to her it was like stooping to eda’s level for a moment. just a tragic situation all around, i love lillith and eda’s characters. two sides of the same coin in season one, sisters forever again in the second.

I said it on the last video, I think season 1 has some pacing issues overall. The majority of its plot is all loaded into these last 2 episodes. But damn if the story and character development we get in these last 2 isn't really good, and actually moves pretty much every character forward in someway. And thankfully season 2 uses all this as a jumping off point and it manages to avoid the pacing issues and lack of "consistent" plot that season 1 had. If you've already started season 2 you've probably seen the improvements already.

Disney puts a lot of pressure in starting shows to go in an episodic direction at the start so they can keep emitting those episodes on TV over and over again, you can see this in a LOT of their shows
