I'm so worried that this'll actually happen - Hunter will get hurt by Belos trying to protect his one friend. If this becomes a whole episode thing I'm hoping with all my might that Hunter runs to the Owl House and we get like a Lilith-living type situation. Though probably not. However, it would be good for his character to get away from this abusive relationship. I think Hunter is having such a hard time understanding Rascal and his friendship because he doesn't truly know what a good relationship looks like, and by taking a step back he can look and realize that this is not okay. He can realize that he shouldn't be afraid of the person who supposedly cared about him.

I was surprised as well, but I think it's suppose to show a humanized version of Belos (how Hunter sees him). I'm quite glad they did tbh as they kept teasing us about what Belos looks like (from the ending of the 1st episode of S2 and ep 6).
