I love and baby mine 😂 got it during the launch and it still looks purdy. I mostly use it for beer…36 cans of beer. But also shopping and farmers market stuff, very nice lightweight package for keeping perishables cold for the day. Loved the review! Keep em coming.

Is there any concern about treating it rough and losing the vacuum seal insulation qualities?
@bobbygfl5 ай бұрын
I do not have any concern of that. You would really need to actually crush it for that that to happen.

My oyster just arrived. It comes with three (really nice) boxes and a logo cardboard spacer. Be sure to remove the inner box holding the cooler as the accessory box is UNDERNEATH the box with the cooler in it.

I stay outside from 6am till usually dark from work to baseball practice so my coolers are a lifeline for us. We live out of them and as yeti fan, i own about ten different ones, hard and soft coolers. Considering getting one of these too. I will say I've seen my yeti freeze bottles of water from nothing but ice several times. No rock salt or anything to bring down the temps . I find these coolers interesting though.
@bobbygfl5 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I totally agree. I own a bunch of yetis and this one I use almost exclusively on my flats Boat for fishing. It fits perfectly in the compartment and keeps everything super cold all day long. We use the soft yeti because we carry them up to the beach.

Holy cow, I thought you were about to put the cooler in between the seats right in front of your air vents on your truck. I am curious if it will fit there, I have the same back seat room. I am wanting this to put their to have access to a cooler inside the truck but still have people sitting on the outer two seats. I would have loved it if you would have showed that. I don't want to purchase such an expensive item for not to fit, I have measured it, but it's difficult since the seat contours aren't exactly square.
@bobbygfl5 ай бұрын
It would definitely fit there in my truck anyway.
@MrFordguy735 ай бұрын
@@bobbygfl thank you, I have the same back seat, mine's a Powerboost rather than a Raptor,, but they are the same dimensions. Thanks again.

Looking to get one. Curious if it'll dent if a kid or adult sits on it. Thoughts?
@bobbygfl Жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. I weigh 220 and I can use it as a stepstool. Because of the rubber feet it is very sturdy. it doesn’t crush or sink it does ding and dent with smaller, concentrated blows if that makes any sense

This cooler failed the UPS testing in the back of a UPS truck during SoCal summer months where temperatures are 20-40 degrees higher than ambient outside temps. The oyster cooler with their thermal battery ice packs and adding a half bag of ice did not last to the 6 hour mark and by 8-10 hour mark drinks and contents were warm to the touch and ice packs also very warm and fully melted. Testing was done in the LA region at the end of July of this year (2024). Daily temperatures were between 98-108 degrees between the hours of 9am-8:45pm PST.
@bobbygfl5 ай бұрын
Wow, that’s interesting. my experience with this cooler has been better than any other cooler I have had.
@jasonluna22805 ай бұрын
@@bobbygfl I go through coolers like crazy and everything from coolers to work boots, coffee mugs and cell phone headsets should go through a UPS proving as I like to say lol. Yeti failed the back of the UPS truck testing as well and returned that cooler many years ago. After trying the oyster I ended up going back to rotating out with my Stanley, Rtic and Pelican coolers. Those 3 have been able to withstand the heat a little better than everything else on the market from my testing. I also must say that the 98-108 air temps does not reflect the heat in back of a UPS truck. Easily add 20-40 degrees to a daily temp and had my thermopen temperature gun was taking daily reading in back of the UPS truck at 120-148

I really have a ton of respect for you and the working conditions. I’ve gotten to know many UPS drivers over the years and they are always so friendly. Usually sweaty lol but very friendly!

The math says a Yeti Large and medium fit but I see in the Video they don't, because the radius of the corners, of the Ice and cooler are different. Have you discovered some combination, of Yeti Ice sizes and thicknesses, that best fit together most efficiently?
@bobbygfl6 ай бұрын
This is a great video idea. What fits perfectly is the four pound and two one pound blocks. One of the one pound blocks has to be put on its side. I’ll make a video. Thanks for the idea. With the thickness of yeti ice it’ll keep it cold significantly longer.
@rwest53866 ай бұрын
@@bobbygfl Did you weigh the Oyster Ice, for reference, or try any combination of Yeti Thin Ice sizes, with or without their regular ice? I'm look forward to your next, cooler/ice, review.

No, just physical dimensions. I will do a video on this

I used Oyster’s thermal battery ice packs but found better results with the Artic Ice packs using their green and blue ice packs but it only kept things colder for about an hour longer in the back of a UPS delivery truck
@silentlou43755 ай бұрын
The oyster icepacks are designed to prevent freezing of the cooler contents.
