This was a great jazz session/ interview with the great Bob James. Hearing "Angela" just warmed my heart! (Taxi theme). His new music is amazing! He's a great talent! Thank you for this Mr. Pace.

Sometimes less is more. We have all heard it. In the case of the "old days," ALL we had was what was on the radio and what we bought at the record store. We had to choose. At $10 or more a record, you mulled over your choices before making your purchase. And when you finally decided on the record to buy, you really, really listened to it. It represented an investment. Plus, you had a limited number of records. Each record was important because your supply was limited. Fast forward to today, where $10/month gives you access to every song ever recorded. I listen to Bob James and I really want to learn some of his material, but with a single click I can be listening to Dr. John or Bill Evans. It is overwhelming. I get distracted. And I am no longer listening to Bob. Access is so great that we don't really appreciate what we are listening to. We jump from one thing to the next. I think maybe the interest in vinyl is our way of trying to simplify the world to what it used to be. Mull over your choices, look at your limited funds, make your decision, and then REALLY enjoy what you have purchased.
