Me: This song is so relaxing and soothing. I'm going to listen to it right before bed. My Brain, actually listening to the lyrics: ... So I guess we're having dreams about people slowly losing their humanity and insanity due to isolation tonight. Cool.

I’m very happy that this musical’s soundtrack is going to come out soon because I’ve listened to only Octet for at least 5 months and need new food

This song is so peaceful and calming. Sometimes when I’m about to cry or am crying, I listen to the pacific and I feel better. I really hope the full Moby Dick musical comes out soon, and octet!!

Rainbows Speaking of Octet, two of the original cast members from that show(are in the A.R.T.’s production premiering tomorrow night! God, I wish I could just portal to Massachusetts just like that to see this! If not, then I’m dying, like you, that Octet tours(even with the cast album already out)! Any of this would help me calm myself in waiting(fingers crossed) for the sit down productions of Great Comet to ever start!!!!

Lyrics! Three years at sea The day becomes the night And the night becomes the day A drowsy wind blows In a trance, the ship rolls They can lay gaze on the infinity of waves And the cadence of our gaze becomes our thoughts among the waves (Chorus) And no one grew into anything new We just became the worst of what we were And no one grew into anything new We just became the worst of what we were Three years at sea No news, no gazettes No startling accounts of the commonplace Luring us into excitement No bankrupt securities No decisions on dinner A sublime uneventfulness (Chorus) And no one grew into anything new We just became the worst of what we were And no one grew into anything new We just became the worst of what we were Joy and sorrow, hope and fear have been ground to finest dust Powdered in the clamped mortar of our captain's iron soul Beneath us lurk the many monsters of the sea The horrors in the murk wait for me And I thought I could just dip my toes in I didn't think I would lose my soul in this silver asylum But I let myself disappear I let myself disappear No one grew into anything new We just became the worst of what we were No one grew... Oh, love me to sleep Oh, you vacant waves Oh, love me to sleep Oh, you vacant waves Oh, love me to sleep Oh, you vacant waves Oh, love me to sleep Oh, you vacant waves...

This song made me think about what a great collaboration it would be if Dave Malloy and Damon Albarn (from Gorillaz, Blur) got together. This song gave me serious vibes to both of their works (Plastic Beach on Damon's case). Moby Dick album when?

Hello! Just a question - what kind of mortar is Dave referring to here? Apparently there’s a weapon one and a building one? I am an English learner, I apologize for my bad English :’)
@theidioticgirl
@theidioticgirl 5 жыл бұрын
It's the building one. Mortar helps hold bricks and stones together, and the mortar is holding the captain's soul together.
@jesusflores3392

I thought it was a reference to a mortar and pestle to grind things up hence "powdered
@grayperson178
@grayperson178 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think @jesus flores is right. That mortar is for bringing up things like corn into meal, or in this case, dust.
