I grew up in a small town outside of Boston. I knew then that my Dad had been a fighter pilot in the South Pacific and he will forever be my hero. It was only in adulthood that I realized who I was surrounded by in that small town. Our next door neighbor Jack - Guadalcanal when he was 17 years old; Rocky the owner of the local lunch counter - Purple Heart for service at Normandy; Edmund, owner of the local market, Silver Star at Normandy. And my Dad, Air Medal in the South Pacific. They all just went about their daily lives, never bragged about what they did as very young men. They're all gone now - but forever heroes. You saved the world.

I learned early on to respect veterans and despertly wanted know what these guys had done as WWII was my favorite subject. After earning so many veterans respect I was saddened to see so many people just not seem to care what these guys had done or been thru. This series and the one coming really changed alot of that. It is a great feeling seeing how affected people are when the light comes on "Oh thats what that old guy did?" Many times I've sat with veterans around me in a theater and heard thier sobs along with those who for the 1st time realize what these men sacrificed. It warms my heart knowing that finally now theyll be remembered.

@Worldofourown20244 ай бұрын
@@richardcroxton6923 Technically yes, but the US no longer represents and carries out the will of the people for it serves the global big money lobbying interests instead. We Americans complain and are unhappy with how our country is going. It will break down just as beginning to happen in England for there exists a most serious conflict of interest. If voting worked, we wouldn't be allowed to vote.

Im not sure why this showed up when I searched for Hans Zimmer, instead of the original version. But this sounds pretty damn good. I'm probably a pretty tough critic, because I have listened to the original version over 1000 times for sure. Sounds awesome man, keep working on your skills! Side note : some of the timing isn't exactly right but it still sounds good.

Wow, this is such a great comment! Yes, there's a bunch of timing issues that I could have ironed out, you're absolutely right. They would, but for very different reasons and logistical purposes. Talk to any American about gun control and see how defensive they get real quickly, if a foreign threat actually did attack them directly would not understand the hell that country can project. As the emperor of Japan once said “behind every blade of grass in America… there is a gun” They’re culturally Ingrained to fight, since they stood up to the British empire once upon a time.

We've always had men like this. And anybody who doesn't think that we don't have them now is a fool. My father was African-American join the United States Army in 1950 he fought two years in Korea for enough points to go home and you know what happened when he came home? He still had people called him the n word yet he stayed in the United States Army for 30 years defending this country. Like I said he was Korea and he did two tours in Vietnam. Four of his sons followed in his footsteps. The eldest one died in Vietnam 53 years ago this past May. So you want to ask that question again?
