Very interesting build. Been lvling mine last days and never tried the ranged electrofield. Went with the knockdown one, wich i learned to enjoy. I do like the burst pistol that has the same dmg amount like the combat pistol , but puts out 3 bullets. Not heard of that aoe conversion handcanon yet. Time to go home and rethink my life (jedi waving hand gesture, lol). Thanks for these idea's.

Phalanx is the most powerful but hard to play in the game. Pros: you can stun the jumping red ones and big xenos, safe allies being grappled with shield or shock, and it saves you from bullets of synths and hits of xenos, and you even don't have to shoot little pathogens but just body block them, which is not known among all the plalanx I met in the game. Cons: everytime you are in front of your allies trying to be the wall between them and xenos, the allies the only ones who deal damage to you so like 80+% of damage is from your allies. Phalanx is my fav class, he can cleanse the territory single handedly but again has to avoid ff damage. And after 1200 hrs in the game I noticed that almost nobody knows how to play it, while phalanx has to be in front and the shield of the whole team, they are somewhere far far behind hiding in the corner of the map and 99% of players don't know that there's the ability which can shield dash the red ones preventing them from jumping. For me only this one ability is OP. Good video but the build is non effective on insane or extreme dif. Putting all the perks into shock is not that good, better to buff a shotgun for fire rate and reload speed and add that perk which increase ability recharge time when being with full stacks and the perk that increases movement by 20% when the shield is out.

Phalanx is the best class with solo! This class use grenade launcher without self damage and give one magazine damage with shotgun until alien got stun. This class can parrying alien's attack even swooping patterns! with shield ability aliens got stun. i cleared dlc m1,m2 intense diff by solo with phalanx. (m3's queen is too strong and AI's gunners are useless)

Don't take the ordinance replacement perk take the fireball thrower and rapid responder opt for debuff and buff damage perk you'll have a phalanx that gets ridiculously strong the more fucked the situation is and melt bosses ridiculously quickly

Great build but would it not be better to drop Quick Charge II for either Enhanced Reach II OR Hazard Seals (acid being the bane of the Phalanx) given the fact 53% recharge speed will suffer from diminishing returns?

as much as I want to play this game because I do own a copy on xbox, I can't even matchmake and stay in game long enough to enjoy it and the times I play with my buddy the FPS rate drops from whatever the max rate on the xbox is to like 5fps for no good reason..I'll be honest I have no clue how we managed to beat the pathomorph queen on intense that way frankly. I think it was dumb luck.I really want to enjoy this game too but If I can't play or even matchmake properly I don't know what I can do on my end to be honest. Also I utilized your doc. dragonfly or whatever it was called and modified it a bit more to my own playstyle so for that build idea you have my thanks, also I renamed it Doc. Ryuu.

You get it from the Pathogen DLC. Complete the Pathogen Campaign.
