make a multiple layer stone brick wall or the strongest blocks you can get, and have a minimum of 10 blocks empty space filled with some traps behind the walls then have another wall just in front of your base (about 5 blocks away from your base) and infront of that wall have a single layer of obsidian. on the outer wall get wood, and put it 2 or 3 blocks above the ground touching the wall on the out side, (basically a bunch of logs with a one block gap between them acting like spikes) so mobs can't just walk straight up to your wall and it acts as spikes slowing down mobs from destroying your wall. also make the outer wall be like a castle wall.

Couldnt you just put slabs on the Floor so its at a .5 coordinate? Normal Mobs dont spawn on these. And it would allow to make good floor patterns. Alternatively, trapdoors should work too. and if all of that doesnt work, waterlog those slabs. Annoying but works.

Mob prooding houses 101: First lesson, Use bottom slabs. Bottom slabs are considered transparent blocks and as such mobs can not spawn on them. 2nd lesson: Dig a 3 block wide moat around your house fill the bottom with lava and place trapdoors on the side opposite of your house in the down position so mobs walk over it and fall right into lava. Step 3: place all your doors sideways. Placing a door sideways makes it so in the closed state the door is wide open for you to walk through but when open it closes the spot it's places. mobs can't break the door because to them it's open and non targetable but can't run through it because it physically blocks them. final step Place more light source blocks (IE: Glowstone, sea lantern, frog lights,) hidden by trapdoors to make them seem like counters as your house is Very dark and the dark allows spawning mobs. you have just mob proofed your house.

For security, add a bunch of the freddy machines that you can build, that one did help fight off an earlier attack that one time. Also, if Atlas mod is updated to your version, it provides an immersive way to keep track of where you had searched, with also a means of marking spots of interest. Even if carpets don't fully block the spawns I think walking on them does help with sanity. And as you can see, for planting Pumpkins and melons, they need an empty block next to the stalk for the melon to grow on, so having the stalks right next to the carrots does not do any good. They don't need to be planted directly beside water, just needs to be within 4 blocks of water like normal crops on tilled soil. It is only Sugarcane that needs to be planted by water.

Maybe you should put more entrances to your house around, like maybe an underground passage that leads to the basement. Constantly running back to the front door hoping for the best doesn't sound too effective

Actually suggested this in another comment! *At least* a back door & an exit from upstairs out the back of the house with a stairway down. And either a 1x2 tunnel to where the villagers currently are or build a basement under the main house & move them there via an underground tunnel. As far as spawn proofing the house I think using *bottom* half slabs would look the best with carpet in some areas. I suggested he add a mod or 2 that add more slab types & carpet designs so it can still look nice while being spawn proof. A lot better than buttons on every block!!

Hey Shadster, you gotta leave an empty space next to the melons so they can grow. It'd be best to remove the tall grass and move the melon seeds planted against the other crops somewhere else with more room for them. :]

For growing the melons just make sure there’s at least two blocks of space (where the seed is planted and where the melon block grows). So I don’t think the melons planted right up against the other crops will grow. Idk what the optimal layout is but hopefully that helps! I’ve really been enjoying this series Shadow!

Hey Shadow, for future reference, the best way to grow melons is by leaving all four sides surrounding them empty as it will allow the melon vine the chance to grow melons on all four of those spots on random ticks. Growing multiple vines right next to each other/right next to other crops with no open spaces around them just leaves less opportunity for more melons to grow!

Since he has no issue adding mods to this series I’d suggest adding a mod or 2 that add a lot more slab types & carpet patterns. So that despite needing to do bottom slabs except directly under work blocks/chests & putting carpet in others he can still make it look good. Also most such mods add additional styles of light sources which could help lighting the place up more without looking like torch/lantern spam. Or even specifically add a lighting mod which typically adds light sources that light up double or triple the standard area from a single source. I added a mod that added a ton of additional flooring options(slabs & carpet) plus a lighting mod in my bedrock survival world bc I hated the amount of torches/lanterns required to keep zombies from spawning inside my massive trading hall. And was tired of trips to the nether for blaze rods to keep making potions to cure my villagers…esp since the nearest nether fortress is *REALLY* far from my portal. Some of the modded lighting options do require blaze rods, glow stone or shroom lights but at least once made I don’t have to continually make more!!

It's always a great day when Shadow uploads! Loving this, though, man, I understand your frustration with these critters. When they're all combined into one modpack like this, they're tough and not balanced! I'd want little closets all around the house for me to run into and hide if they spawned inside. I hope the buttons work at least, and if those work, carpet might work and it'll be more visually appealing and not something you can accidentally click.

Panic rooms wouldn’t be a bad idea! Also a back door & exit off the second floor into the backyard would be a good idea. Maybe even a drop down into a basement safe room with a tunnel leading to an exit 50-100 blocks away from the house up into a small cabin would be a good idea too!!

Great series mate I think you could put walls/fences with fence gates to divide your house up like Calvin has in his from the fog series to stop the dwellers getting to you. Not sure if it stops them completely but would give you time to get away. could at least put one to block off the fireplace part of your house as they seem to spawn there a lot. Glad you managed to get melons eventually but if you want another option for the glistening melons then farmers have a chance to sell them or golden carrots at max level. Also the melons dont need the water right next to them like sugarcane does and they need empty spaces around them to grow. You can also use fortune to break the melons to get more. Hope this helps :)

Ninja here again, I think you should carpet the living room and bottom slab the entire area where your kitchen and brewing and enchantment table is, because mobs cannot spawn on bottom slabs and raise your enchantment setup up by one and add bottom slabs on top of the bookshelves of the enchantment setup, and they don’t spawn on farmland too, so I think expanding your farm would be good too. Love your videos as always!😊

Well to be fair…modded enderman tend to be far more aggressive often including attacking WITHOUT being looked at & hit for FAR more damage. So regular enderman are *at least* not dangerous unless you look directly at them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This episode was really terrifying and as well as enjoyable, if I had this experience in my minecraft world then I would never touch minecraft ever again. Adding some magma blocks to the river could act like trap to help with some of these creatures as the downward bubble columns are pretty hard to escape from but easy to clear if you're going full speed in a boat. It also would act as a fish farm, albeit an inefficient one.

Little hint to move around in the snow, only walk on the the that has a thin layer on top, the snow you can fall in cannot have the thin layer of snow on top of it, so if you see a clean cut/end in the thin layer of snow on your path, avoid it Also if you do fall in DON'T PANIC, do not move and break the blocks you are in, if you keep running you falling in more as you saw for yourself (we had a snow server with friends that's how I learned that, the hard way lol)

You can put buttons on the floors or sink the floor down by half a slab. Like replace the full blocks with half slabs and leave the important blocks like the blocks that support carpets. And you should brighten some of the dark spots in the house. Plus full netherite armor with full protection and a totem would help. Probably against the rules to use totems. And put signs on your ore barrels so you don’t waste one of each of the ores or you can make a block of it and put it over it. And enchant your shield with max unbreaking and mending. What happened to Timothy? Your pig that you had like two years ago. And the melons needs a block around them to grow. Like behind them to grow which they probably can’t cause of the other farm

Good day. I think you'd really appreciate some sort of waystone mod when talking about exploration. Plus when talking about a house protection against these dwellers. .There's not much to do honestly. I've been playing a similar modpack with over 35 dwellers in it, and they really don't care about most spawning rules of the vanilla MC. And one more thing. Savana villagers can have melons growing in their villages.

I think having multiple safe rooms, multiple doors to exit/enter the house & a drop into a safe room below ground with an escape tunnel leading 50-100 blocks away from the house up into a small cabin would do more to keep him safe. AND adding a weapons mod with MUCH stronger & durable shields!! Maybe either a potions or better foods mod to give additional sources of regen that still take effort to squire would be good too.

if the buttons dont work and you want to go to carpets, i suggest Nox's Better Carpets! they are a little girly, but they have plenty of neutral options that will match the foor you already have. there's also Exline's More Carpets that ads carpet versions of blocks already found in game, one of them being glass! you could have a shiny floor! also if you do replace the buttons, use a water bucket, i always forget water breaks buttons and carpets and i end up spending way to long picking them up. also some other things mobs cant spawn on are Bottom Slabs, Glass, Path block, Trapdoor on the bottom of block, Redstone repeater, Comparator, Redstone dust, Stairs, Walls, Pressure plates, Fence, Fence gate, Rails, Water, Lava, Chest, Ender chest, Hopper, Campfire, Glass pane, Daylight sensor, Bedrock, Wither rose. another cool mod that will totally fit this horror theme is corpse, where after you die a corpse of yourself is left behind. if left for a while your avatar becomes a skeleton! just a little detail that ads to the creepy factor

I think you can get the melons needed for potions from a farmer villager. You can get a farmer villager using a composter, and you can get a villager by breeding the two you have. Once the villager is a high enough trading level, you can get glistening melons, which are used for potions.

Build with bottom half slabs to stop mob spawns. Or.... for a fun way, place trip wire above your head & trap doors on the floor, so when a tall mob spawns, they get yeeted like beet root. It looks like most of the scary mobs are above 2 blocks high, idk for certain. You totally should've placed a camera on your roof.
