One of the few roles in which Foulger had a sizeable role. According to IMDb, he had 485 acting credits, mostly in supporting and bit parts. He appeared in quite a few Perry Mason episodes in the late 50s/early 60s. He was married to Dorothy Adams, who also had a gigantic credit list in supporting and bit parts, and their daughter, Rachel Ames, spent over 40 years (!) as the head nurse in the soap General Hospital. Foulger and Adams spent much time at the Pasadena Playhouse, performing and directing. I guess you can make a nice living on bit parts if you collect a lot of them!

An extremely entertaining Hollywood movie from the far back days of the 40s of the last century containing tantalising suspense and sympathe portrayal of characters. violence that mars

Much better than expected, considering it was directed by the prolific William Beaudine who directed countless low-budget horror, mystery and comedies for Producers Co. and Monogram Pictures from the 30s thru the 50s and is, perhaps unfairly, on many "worst Director of All Time" lists. Pretty good acting and sharp dialogue with many humorous touches.

Full sized Luger ..the weapon hid after second shooting, was never made in a .32 caliber. A "mini-luger" was, but it is much smaller.

@@ERGORSE ooops. Hah, they ruined the movie...how hard was it to pick a pistol that matched the story line?

@@markgarin6355 I've seen worse, like uniformed police officers in the 1950's pulling snub-nosed revolvers out of their holsters. Or Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson using single-action Colt six-shooters. Or 1870's cowboys using 1894 Winchesters. Or 22nd-Century space travelers using 1950's M-1 Carbines.
